Kind of sounds like you're wanting to put staging 'stuff' on an image of her property (LAND) without a building, correct? You can import the photo's as a backdrop, but they're 2D, and you can't locate 3D staging in a 2D photo, but you could put stuff in front of a photo. You might try creating a 3D terrain and use your photo(s) as a backdrop... I think that's about as close as you'll get to what you're asking.

Very good planning depending on final wall thickness and wall taper. In this case looks like almost 12" of just taper, so I think the sloped framing would be separate, thus I suggested use of a short pony wall in plan view which would show up as double framing, but not effect the 3D views/elevations.

Yes, that is one way. I was suggesting some kind of obvious checkbox as another... where the whole 3D image of the cabinet highlights when you're modifying defaults for the entire cabinet, and when you select an individual door/drawer then just that door/drawer highlights... just as it works now in the Front/Sides/Back panel.

This has come up many times in the forum. Did you try searching for info on it? I'm pretty sure the only current solutions are either to use a 'roof' for the wall, or if they're battered (sloped outside, vertical inside) you can draw the wall where it would be vertically (inside location) then use polyline solid to show the sloped shape on the outside of the wall. Also you could go so far as to use a very short pony wall on the outside along with the sloped polyline solids... the short pony wall on the outside would show up in plan view as framing depending on your view setting for pony walls.

Sure, I can explain it... Currently the Door/Drawer panel of the DBX is laid out very clearly to allow hardware manipulation on the cabinet. So naturally that is where one would expect to adjust the hardware on their cabinet. However once you click on the 3D cabinet image in that panel it reverts you over to the Front/Sides/Back panel where things are not so clearly laid out for adjusting hardware. Why not have that 3D image in the Door/Drawer panel operate the same way it does in the Front/Sides/Back panel, allowing you to select the door or drawer and adjust the hardware on just that door or drawer? If you don't have a door/drawer selected (or select a checkbox for 'entire cabinet'), then your changes effect the entire cabinet.... all done right there in that very well laid out and obvious place for hardware manipulation. Leave the Front/Sides/Back panel just for arranging the panels, as it works now.

Maybe try quickly/roughly modifying a lever latch from the library with your backplate and see if you can get it to position properly?

Pretty sure he means if you locate the hardware in the recessed panel area of a framed door/drawer but not on the stile, then it floats off of the surface

Ha ha... ya, well if you had the room labels in other rooms, but not the garage, then I guess I understand where he's coming from. Reminds me of one time early in my backpacking days, I was in a designated Wilderness area heading for a particular lake. I had my map and compass and knew how to use them, but as I'm hiking along, mile after mile, I'm passing side trails and every single one of them has a sign pointing down the side trail calling out the lake it heads to, and the distance. So I get to where the lake I'm heading to should be and it's driving me NUTS that I can't find the sign calling out the trail to the lake. I didn't need that, I could've just cross-countried over to the lake with my map and compass, but having seen such a sign at every lake I just expected it to be there.

I wondered this myself... but figured to each their own. I show those room sizes only when in design so the client has an idea of the room sizes without having the plan all dimensioned. Once it's dimensioned, those room size tags are gone. Well you know the old saying... you can't fix stupid. That's a bit scary if it was a contractor?!?.. jeez

I've used that before for inserting appliances... it looks like that would be all that its for.

Yeah... I get that, but my question is deeper... why not just have one page for setting and adjusting hardware... whether you follow the default with all doors/drawers or just select ones? It's one of those things that once you learn it's fine, but it could be done more intuitively.

Nice... didn't know that. This is the kind of thing that just wrankles me... why are there two different places to adjust the hardware? So down-voter... you don't think it could be better if all hardware manipulation were able to be done on a single page?

You control the size from the dialogue box for those rafters you created. Select the two rafters and open their DBX. If you want/need the shape of the beam to be as per your detail, then you'll have to use polyline solids to create the beams. Many many things are possible to do in Chief, but in my opinion there are so many things people try to do in the model that are not really necessary when a single detail can tell the story for a fraction of the time. You could try using a U-channel molding from the library to create your two beams.

I do not understand what your first question is? For your second question you can make your ceiling recess (tray ceiling) a little bit deeper then just raise your beams an inch. You can use Transform/Replicate

Yeah, 6° is pretty darn tight for those radii... the view I showed was 15° I wish we could use the Change Line/Arc tool on roof edges.
