Looking For Design Help For A Phoenix, Az Home Renovation
lbuttery replied to PhxRemodel's topic in Seeking Services
HD PRO can do 18 x 24 at 1/4" scale and 36 x 48 at 1/8" scale I submitted many plans on 11 x 17 and 18 x 24 all depends on what the officials want - it varies by locale even with one page layout -each page can be saved then assembled as they are printed can it be done using PRO - maybe should it be done using PRO - depends engineering is another issue to consider some states allow homeowner or builder to create most of the pages and only require engineer/architect to sign/stamp their pages other states require every page to be signed/stamped here in NY I could prepare plans but every page must be reviewed then signed/stamped Lew- 7 replies

Unable To Import Dwg. Due To Unrecognisable Font
lbuttery replied to htimsnoiz's topic in General Q & A
you add fonts to your PC'S fonts folder under C: WINDOWS FONTS Chief uses whatever fonts are installed on the PC been awhile but I think you choose the font using Chief's preferences Lew -
if you have an active SSA account you will be able to join the public beta session which may start soon the release of X7 is anticipated to be around Feb 1 - but ??? Lew
-
I assumed you had SSA and was debating on renewing it to get X7 I gave up on BIM "You can lead a horse to water - but you can't make it drink" Lew
-
there is a $95 fee if you let your SSA expire Lew
-
the same can be done using the "ACTIVE DEFAULTS" toolbar icon and more .... Lew

CA never releases info about an upgrade before-hand they may drop a hint or two but that is all Lew

posting the plan will get better replies than guesses while HD PRO users can benefit from following Chieftalk you should also follow the Hometalk forum as it is dedicated to HD users Lew

Carson City Nevada Firm That Can Convert Files For Me
lbuttery replied to hccpastordave's topic in Seeking Services
Dave: I am retired due to health reasons so I could have done a few - just to help but your project is more time-consuming than I am able to commit to hopefully, someone will offer their assistance and give you their fee for doing so Lew -
CA Suites - aka HD Suites is one of the HD product line produced by CA most of the HD users won't find any benefit from posting or following the Chieftalk forum they will find better responses on the Hometalk forum only HD PRO users should consider following Chieftalk CA needs to make this clearer to new users this confusion only causes frustration on the part of many Lew

I've always believed that you don't give the client a choice on doing design just as they have no choice to skip framing or roofs or permits design should be mandatory Lew

Mike: I think the reply will be to learn anno-sets I don't use them as I am retired but that is what CA created them for Lew

Johnny: for many years the HD product line was sold under the Better Homes and Gardens label then around X1 or X2, CA parted ways and re-labled the HD line as Chief Architect also so someone surfing the internet could easily confuse the HD product line for Chief Premiere and wonder why someone would recommend it for Professionals Lew -

Recommendations For Alternative 3D Viewer?
lbuttery replied to Richard_Morrison's topic in General Q & A
We found it best to use GOTOMEETING to show off the 3D etc otherwise we sent PDF's for most of our clients we worked on a retainer system so they had already paid for the product up to that point so sharing plan files was not an issue with them Lew -

Bob: probably best to contact CA's tech support Lew
-
Louie: nothing mentioned here except it was being worked on Lew
-
probably best to contact CA's customer service on Monday and explain how you got here as they need to "fix" that many HD users end up here and Chiefer's can't really help them since the products have such limited features only HD PRO has manual tools and other features that Chiefer's can relate too Lew
-
Homes Designer Suite 2015 is a very limited version as is most of the HD product line - except HD PRO you will find little help on the Chieftalk forum you will have better luck on the Hometalk forum Lew
-
welcome: if you can post the plan the replies will be better focused Lew

Perry: yep, that is the modeless feature that would be VERY nice for Chief to have AFTER they "fix" most of the "work-arounds" Lew
