  1. Send me a copy of your .plan file, then we can fix it together online. Read my "Tutoring" page on my website for complete information. DJP t
  2. Your best source for this type of help is from Tech Support Monday-Friday, call them and see what they say please. DJP
  3. Only three D plants emulate real plants. Image based plants are just 2D images that cover each other up as you have seen. DJP
  4. The difference is that Eric placed the edge of this stair object precisely at the corners, you did not. Stair objects are preprogrammed to snap together at their corners provided you place them there with precision. DJP
  5. In "My Documents - Chief Architect Premier X12 Data - Toolbars_MigrateBackup", you copy-paste any toolbar files that you have customized and replace those default files with your customized files, one PC to another. DJP
  6. Your best friend will be found to be the "Foundation Tab" of the "Wall Specification Dialog" when manually drawing foundation walls whether they are part of or just adjacent to living space on the basement level. DJP
  7. I have never done what you describe either but I am the one with "No Problem" and you are, perhaps you have been, in the past just lucky. I have never used the eyedropper to blend materials using the "Paint Roller" icon because it was very hit and miss as to results. You are welcome to disagree and do as you wish. DJP
  8. Sounds like to me you are replacing the material, one with another instead of using a color to "Blend with Material" on the "Texture Tab" of the "Define Material Dialog", you must be doing something else. DJP
  9. I recently created one for a shower I was designing. I used a wall elevation camera to place the niche in the lower pony wall DJP
  10. I got good results from Matterport material and found it to be reasonably accurate, of course their person creating the Matterport materiial needs to be competent in doing their job as well, nothing is a "sure thing" unless people see that it is. DJP
  11. I have X7 and I have been doing online Tutoring since Version 7, send me an email to get started please! DJP
  12. http://djpdesigns.com/more-roof-dialog.html This may help DJP
  13. Call Chief Architect Sales for copyrighted materials published on their website, please. DJP
  14. I just got off the phone with Tech support, after opening X12 to see what was what (I had thought you could do this in earlier versions but Now, I do not think so). Apparently, this cannot presently be done other than manually(create a polyline solid, set its material to "Insulation" and then manually place in walls, one at a time - yuck!!!). So this is a great option that we should have but presently we do not. Make a "Feature Request" to support and maybe we can get it into X13. DJP

  16. Here you are, programmed in X10 for use in HD Pro 2019 546387603_Balaur1-15-21.plan
  17. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-02944/defining-a-new-wall-type.html Auto Dimensions can be turned on or off and otherwise what you can do is contained in Default Settings - Dimensions - Temporary Dimensions https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/48/creating-layouts-and-construction-documents.html DJP
  18. You do that by opening the symbol using "Edit 3D Symbol" tool where you can then change aspects of the symbol. DJP
  19. If such an option exists in your truss dialog box then possibly but otherwise you will have to do that manually (BTW only State Licensed Structural Engineers can legally design trusses, are you a Licensed Structural Engineer?) DJP
  20. Commonly most users are not aware that the "Display Options" dialog has many instances in Chief Architect, the trick is that they all look identical but in fact, there are minimally 11 different instances of the Display Options dialog: One for Plan View, and one for each camera type so it is easy to have trusses show in plan view but not in a camera view (different Display Options dialogs present the ability to have the Framing, Truss layer on in plan view and off in an elevation camera view (different Display Options Dialogs). DJP
  21. Commonly some like me helps you complete the Architectural Plans. Depending where you live you may also be required by your local building authority to have a consulting State Licensed Structural Engineer to say what framing sizes, how framed, beam sizes, rafter sizes and so forth. So we take our Architectural plans, share them with the Engineer in AutoCAD file format and he or she then uses them as a basis for the Engineer drawings. Which are printed to paper, stamped by the Engineer and the two finished sets then go together to the Permit Authority to gain a building permit (Architectural Plans and Structural Plans together). You need to find out what IS required locally and share that understanding with whomever then helps you with the Architectural plan set. DJP
