  1. I use floor 0. Here are a couple looks. Both are floor 0, use Anno Sets to be able to separate the floor plan from the foundation plan.
  2. Always been that way. Turning on the MAIN LAYER ONLY layer turns off the other layers that deal with the walls.
  3. Started a thread.... and realized it was in the ChatRoom and not the Questions. So....any framing and clean connections in the new version?
  4. More of the same. Looks like I'll keep my money for another round.
  5. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-Indoor-Dryer-Vent-Kit-TDIDVKHD6/203626526
  6. I also use Anno Sets to keep my site plan live and a part of my plan. As for the other tools, none of those.
  7. I use pony walls and anno sets along with some CAD lines for displaying the actual foundation walls.
  8. This issue has been around as long as I have used Chief. Not sure why it hasn't been addressed.
  9. Second floor framing is the first floor clg framing in my neck of the woods. Always shown on the first floor, as the first floor framing in shown on the foundation/basement floor.
  10. The line weights on you plan file do not match the line weights on your layout file. Make sure they are the same. File>Print>Drawing Sheet Setup>Advanced Line Weight Options. Make sure they are set the same on plan file and layout file.
  11. Simply cut them from floor 1 and paste in place on floor 0.
  12. @DecoratorsCorner I have a RCP Anno set. Everything set to gray scale except my CAD_RCP, Text_RCP, Notes/Text_RCP....etc. Anno Sets are they only way I work with Chief. Nothing better.
  13. I have made the suggestion multiple times over the years to have the ability to select and shape footings as needed. There is no reason we should not be able to form footings into pads as required along a stretch of wall.
  14. Chief will not AUTO build floor trusses. Delete the floor framing and manually place the floor trusses.
  15. Change the layer color. I use a black background as well, all my electrical layers are orange and show just fine.
  16. You re right...thinking of something else. Select the trim piece and this tool pops up, use it to delete the offending piece of trim.
  17. Once you select that trim, convert it to a basic molding pline rather than a frieze (roof trim) and select the box for no trim on this line. Then select the roof plane and remove the frieze for that roof plane so that it won't keep generating.
  18. You can. I honestly can't remember the last time I drew a pier/post or a footing pad. Just set up what you want in the defaults and click under the beam. If it's a basement then you set the defaults to post/pad, if a crawl then go with pier/pad.
  19. Since no-one else has, I will state the obvious here....between your username and the nature of the questions I would suggest that you take a pass on this project, or purchase a nice fat insurance policy.
  20. Go to the default label text box and set it transparent so that the boxes go away.
  21. Change the 2"X lumber in the roof defaults to Steel-I and set the distance. The purlins will need to be added manually.
  22. I think you may still be confused. I build/design basements almost exclusively. Chief calls is a post footing. You can set the defaults to go just beneath the slab, with the top of the basement slab, or if no slab is present, you set the top to the amount of exposure you want above the grade. Anyway...the tool in my post above will clear up the confusion.
  23. When you place the post there should be one added automatically. Just set the default(s) for the post type, and the footing type for that post.
  24. One plan per project. I know some use multiple plans. A plan for this, a plan for that...too much. I want to be able to click on a view in layout and be sent to the exact spot on my model. All the text and CAD items are in the library, so it's still drag and drop, but the detail is live. I'm sure my method takes a little longer in the end, but I'm ok with it.
