  1. I use this setting to get rid of the annoying stringers. The gap I don't notice so much, maybe the deck overhang is stopping it from getting against the wall. (?)
  2. Sometimes called a grade beam when they are that deep. May....M A Y...be better as a 2 pour grade beam, but would have to see a soil report and rebar requirements.
  3. Something is overriding the setting and without the plan file I am out of ideas, so my advise would be to go ahead and work the plan, you can always go back at the end when you know the foundation isn't going to change (other than a minor adjustment here or there) and delete the flooring.
  4. Use the select all or shift select option to select the text only and change it. Having said that, I add the text to it's own layer (TEXT_DETAILS) so that I can control the color through the layer options.
  5. Both the .dxf and .dwg will load into Chief.
  6. Or pay the money to one of the very capable professionals here on the forum to assist you.
  7. You havent deleted the flooring in the plan defaults. Use the wrench at the top of the screen and set
  8. I have a couple builders out there that I do plans for. They have engineers that send per their pages, or markup and I draft them.
  9. Yes. Once you change the default for that floor turn auto-built back on. It's the only way to work IMO...
  10. Change the default by deleting the finished floor when you set up the basement. Then re-build the basement. Any change you make to the foundation/basement after it has been built will turn off the auto re-build. As long as you are not too far into the process, change the default and re-build.
  11. Just add the entire page to a CAD detail box in Chief and explode & delete. I have that same page, and many others, for I-Joists and open floor trusses for example. You don't need a CAD editor, Chief will let you do what you want.
  12. If the detail is a .dwg or .dxf then yes. Simply explode the CAD block and have at it. There is a Simpson library though that may have something you need.
  13. Mull the windows together THEN set the arch.
  14. In the pictures you show, those windows are most certainty mulled together. They are simple butted with a mulling kit. Set Chief to have 0" separation and you can achieve the same thing. EDIT: Probably arrived to the job site factory mulled.
  15. Open the defaults for Walls. Under general there is an option to turn the off. The defaults for the dormers can be set by double clicking the tool.
  16. Go to the floor above and delete all the auto generated attic walls Chief puts in the plan. Then turn off the auto generation of those attic walls, which should allow you to move the floating dormer around without hitting walls that are in the way. See if that helps.
  17. Turn auto foundation back on to fix it.
  18. On the layout page click on the view and you will see the tools pop up, mine are at the bottom of the page. Select the tool that looks like a ruler and change the scale.
  19. Yep. Difference is I was interested in moving to CAD, I'm not the least bit interested in moving away from Anno Sets.
  20. I'm just too hard headed I guess. I have my workflow down pat so I have never even bothered to look at a saved plan view. All of my needed info is in my Anno Sets.
  21. You have to define the layers properly. Close the plans and upload a copy of it so we can see what you have going on.
  22. You have eaves at diffing heights. Check the box for higher boxed eaves and see if that works.
  23. Sounds like you changed the default drywall to brick. Go back and look at the wall layers, and DO NOT USE the spray paint can. Too easy to paint the wrong thing.
