The New Mono Slab to Existing Raised Floor challenge
dshall replied to dshall's topic in General Q & A
Thanks guys, you are the best. Steve you are correct. Existing condition so I cannot move stem wall to make it work. Rene kind of hit on the reason, the location of the center of conc. stem wall relative to wall at level above (center of stem wall must be just outside of the upstairs wall width). The easy fix is to use a conc. stem wall that is just wider than the wall above (3.5 * 2 = 7"min) Steve, the added stem wall idea was interesting however when I tried it, I would not get the sill plate for the joists to auto build. In your vid you had the sill plate but I have a feeling you did not have auto build framing on so it was left over. Would you mind double checking that? Please rebuild the framing and see if you get the sill plate to return. Thanks again guys, such a great forum. -
flared angled stairs..... didn't they follow the walls at one time?

he says ... ":Thanks". ..... as he slithers away, face red, puffed out chest now concave, the crowd heckles as they throw tomatoes in his direction..... -

I just know this is going to be a very dumb question, but where is the box to check winders? It must be there but I don't see it. Could it possibly be on a page other than the page that lets me define the winder contraction? I am ready for a vacation . Lucky for me, I have one coming up. boy do I feel dumb today. Thanks Eric for the assistance. -

Mick, if you wouldn't mind giving it a shot and posting the plan I would appreciate it. I have tried the room method and changing the size of the stringers. It shouldn't be this hard. -

Here is the plan if somebody wants to take a stab at it. bbbb angled stairs.plan -
flared angled stairs..... didn't they follow the walls at one time? so I want the stairs to be 6' wide at bottom and 4' wide at the second floor. I thought at one time I could put the walls in at an angle, and the stairs would expand to the walls. (winders?)' Is there a way to define the shape of the stairs using walls?

The New Mono Slab to Existing Raised Floor challenge
dshall replied to dshall's topic in General Q & A
I forgot to post what the cross section should look like. This section was cut , auto detailed, auto dimensioned..... no manipulation -
The New Mono Slab to Existing Raised Floor challenge: ... so yesterday CA had an online foundation build workshop. I posed a problem that I have, it was suggested I send in the plan. I have sent it in, but the issue has not been solved...... for my particular circumstance. Let's just say nobody has fixed my plan to show me what I might be doing wrong. This morning Larry Hawes suggested I post it on the forum to see if any of you smart guys can come up with a solution. I thought.... "what a great idea, I should of thought of that". So here it is. The challenge is to make my BBBB wahl 7a slab to raised floor puzzle 1 look like my bbbb my own slab to stem wall 2 plan......... WHERE THE NEW MONO SLAB MEETS THE EXISTING RAISED FLOOR ASSEMBLY. I have included both plans plus colored pictures with directives. HERE IS LINK TO PROBLEM PLAN https://www.dropbox.com/s/67qj2rp62gapp53/BBBB wahl 7a slab to raised floor puzzle 1.plan?dl=0 HERE IS A GOOD PLAN bbbb my own slab to stem wall 2.plan

The garage door wizard was wonderful. I had it too but I seemed to have lost it. I paid for it a long long time ago. I would be willing to pay for it again if I could find it. -

Thanks Rob & Charles. If we meet at the UGM this September I owe you a drink Charles door on left, Rob's on the right... -
Garage Doors, does anybody have the door below they can share? Has anybody put together a good garage door collection they can share. At one time I had a decent one but during the great email theft of December 7th, 2021, I do not have them anymore. (boy, what a mess that has been) DO NOT EVER LET ANYBODY GET CONTROL OF YOUR EMAIL..... YOUR LIFE WILL BE ^*(&T%*(TT*. I know, I know, my bad.

aha..... thanks for the insight..... not good behavior .....
-
hmmmm.... I just tried this with OOB..... OOB drew correctly whether I drew ceiling plane on inside of wall or on outside.... this is new to me... it appears to behave correctly with an OOB plan.
-
Robert, this has never been a problem ..... until recently. I too have noticed that the ceiling plane draws about 2.5 inches lower than it should. I should report this bad behavior.... to sure if it started with X13 I agree with you Michael, I too draw the ceiling planes on interior face and not the exterior face.

I will go back into the archives and get a pic of Lynn and I. Sorry to hijack your thread Bdillard.... at least Joey Martin (one of the best on the forum) answered your question.
-
Dang it Perry, you guys are a great looking couple too. It looks like you lucked out with Penny.
-
Lynn is coming with me this year. She retired on December 23rd, got a labradoodle on December 24th, I am now her 3rd priority after the grandkids and the dog. It would be great to meet up with you Joey. I hope you and you wife show up. EDIT: Again I screwed up by opening my mouth. Joey, please go back to the pic of you and your wife.... it really is a nice pic.

Brian has said it is a dual monitor glitch with the apple products. I typically listen to Brian.

A quick comment. Joey Martin and his Wife make a GREAT LOOKING COUPLE! BTW, Joey, you have not changed your picture in 17 years, are you guys still that great looking? What is your secret? I have tried exercising, eating better, getting more sleep.... it ain't helping me. I think I might start using a photo from the past century..... like around 1995.... that is when I met my wife...... at least half of us was good looking back then. Jeez, was it really that long ago?
