chop, I was guessing it was possible, I could not make it work...

Wha5 about the wall hatch tool. Once the hatch patten is 5here, you can change the fill. inhav3 not tested.
-
Of course the next question is..... make sure what layer is on?
-
I would consider the CA on line tutoring.

Glenn, I will send you a GTM invite at 4:00 am Saturday which is 9:00 pm Sunday your time....... if your are available that would be great. Thank You Hey, if you guys can beat Peru Wednesday midnight Aussie time (or very early Thursday morning , you should move on to the next round. I will be rooting for the the Aussies. BTW, when is Sydney going to move to PST like the rest of the world?

I thought when I hit the button shown, ALL elevations would update INCLUDING THE SHADOWS.
-
Hey P. not asking anything, just making a comment that my shadows do not update unless I am on the layout page that has the elevations. Glenn, do you have the problem with your mac? If not, maybe we can do a quick GTM and I can show you what happens, maybe I am doing something wrong.
-
Here is another example. Notice the new walls and roofs. Note that the shadows were for the previous house prior to editing. Why CA would not acknowledge this, is a mystery to me. The second picture shows the shadows fixed after I updated all views whilst this page was visible. The question is, how can I get the new structure to show with the shadows of the old elevations if there was not some kind of issue going on?
-
I did not read all posts..... here is my issue....... If I update all views, and I am on a sheet that does not have the elevations, the shadows on those exterior elevation will not update. I have to be on the layout page that has the elevations, and then when I update all views, the shadows will correct themselves. I have sent this in several times but apparently cannot be duplicated at headquarters. (I am on a MAC)

I am glad you asked this. The answer is yes you can, however, I have run into this once in a while when it does not work. Close the program and reopen and it should work. I cannot explain it.

A big thing is the REF SETS are tied to plan views, they are not tied to anno sets.
-
You did not look hard enough, it is there

Hi Joe, thanks for the ideas, -quick scroll worked well if I knew the first letter of the macro -up and down arrows, sort of useless but could come in handy -page up and down..... page up did not work at all, page down worked only once, - the mouse wheel for me is too slow because of my settings. but I found the HOME and END keys worked great, thanks again for the help.

It is so hard to edit these posts

Macro list is now scrollable? I can't figure out how to scroll through my macro quickly, does anybody understand this?
-
errrrrrr, YEA!!!!!! But you already knew that.

turn on your roof planes, turn on all auto framing, raise roof up 12" (too low),change your ceiling finish from air gap to stucco, etc Porch Test fix.plan Porch Test fix.plan
-
OMG, call me stupid, but why aren't you using auto labels? Anyway, this is about the best setup (for me)

Yea, me too, I now think back on when we did not have them and wonder how we got by without them.
-
WOW Michael, my head is swimming...... thanks for putting that together, it will take a while to wrap my head around this.
-
Yea, just watched the vid, I think there are more downsides to the XOR but I think I could find a use for the USE OBJECT ON option for select ref sets. I did a vid on this stuff many many years ago, it i always good to re-review.
-
Yep, if I am referencing the second floor at first floor, I do not want to see wall fills, however if I am on foundation plan referencing the first floor, I do want to see the concrete fill of the concrete at first floor which I want..... but it will also show the fills of the walls above, not what I would want but I can definitely live with it. So this is an example of a ref set using the object on and an example of a ref set using object off.
