  1. Im not at office to check. The wall type is correct but I have a feeling that is not the wall type he is using. Did you check it yet?
  2. I disagree with this answer also. If this was the case..... what defines the material at the edge? It is defined by the wall type finish. I wonder what wall type he is using. If this is the answer, I would be learning something new. I wish he would post the plan.
  3. I have never needed to do this. Post the plan and Eric will probably give you a much better answer.
  4. I just found the CAATO time tracking software. It looks very easy to use and a great way to keep track of the time it takes to carry out my tasks during the day. Has anybody used this or do you have a favorite time tracking software. I know CA has one, but I bounce around so much during the day, I need something a bit more robust.
  5. The tab is acting up when I grab a side of a poly line, I start to resize by dragging a side, hit the tab key, the dimension dialog box opens and then the number I may put in does not work.
  6. Please pardon the ignorance, I am always confused as to import at inch or feet. Is there a way to identify which units to use for importation ?
  7. When you import, before you actually import, do you identify all stuff on the maj an$ min contours as contours? i: going off memory in r3gards to termin9logy.
  8. I gave your plan a go and I could not get it to work. In fact, when I imported I found nothing.
  9. my solution was to delete wall in 3d , wall auto came back but too short so then drag the left end out to the left and that worked without needing the invisible wall.
  10. The text is controlled by the layer the CAD line is on.... I think that is what Rene said.
  11. I just printed a PDF to a PDF in PREVIEW (MAC's default viewer) and the size of the file grew 250%, not good.
  12. Yes, I think I have shared how much larger my MAC PDF's are compared to PC's PDF's.
  13. My choice would be to have the option to auto dimension to top of window in lieu of bottom of header. This would eliminate an 80.5 inch dimension to bottom of header, instead we would get an 80 inch height to top of window. (no 1/2 inch dimensions..... I suppose iffy rough opening was 0.4 inches instead of 0.5 inches andI eliminated 1/2 inch dimensions, I would get what I want.
  14. WOW, WOW, WOW, I think I am late to the party AGAIN. I just sent a PDF to my engineer and he was able to edit my text. I think he opened it with ADOBE PREMIUM? which gave him the power to do this but then I guess it made the file very l large that his computer had difficulty with it. I tried the same thing with my other engineer (he was using BLUEBEAM), and he was not able to manipulate the text. I bet if he knew what he was doing in BLUEBEAM he probably could manipulate the text and lines. Bottom line is, I do not want my clients to be able to manipule my plans. So how do i resolve this?
  15. Yesterday I sent a large pdf file (via drop box link) to the engineer for review and he said the he tried to open it, his computer kept crashing. To sort this out he too had to "flatten" the PDF. I do not think anything had been added after initially printing (per Michael's thoughts). First time this has been an issue. It does need to be worked out.
  16. Mick has it. That is what I was looking for but I wanted the grade to be auto.... I now realize that is not a reasonable request. Mick, your picture shows what I want. I am now doing it Mick's way.
  17. I thought we could edit a door directly in the door schedule. Is this not so. Is there a way to quickly find a particular door in plan via the door schedule?
  18. I know, I am still not being clear. MSL should read 0.0, grade should real 150’, finished floor should read 152’. the more I think about it, the more I think it is as good as they can get it for my purposes.
  19. No, because the house is 150’ above sea level and the finished floor will not read 150’ abs. i had tried that.
  20. A final note, thanks to all that helped me get through this. In the end, it can do what I want it to do with one exception, I wish we could had a toggle so we could ref mean sea level and then toggle to ref absolute zero in plan. I think that would make all happy.
  21. Hi Joe, do you have a bulletin from the city of San Diego I can refer to?
