Agree, the wall common to house and garage is the HOUSE WALL, it is not the GARAGE WALL, at least that is the way I always figured it.

I would suggest you watch my DORMER VIDEOS at CHIEFTUTOR.COM to fully understand all of the possibilities.

Is There A Way To Have A Backdrop Rotate With A View...
dshall replied to HumbleChief's topic in General Q & A
2 questions Jintu... 1. Can you control the start of the pic. I.e., does the start of pic line up with back of house or front? 2. Is there a site we can get a SEAMLESS panoramic pic. -
That's nice to hear, I am with you, I too appreciate how we all work together to help each other out and to learn new stuff. Nice post Larry.

Roof Trusses/ Attic Wall Settings Cutting Into Neighbouring Room
dshall replied to bernie's topic in General Q & A
Bernie's Roof Truss videos: http://youtu.be/tfKfrF91No0 Nothing great, showing how to use a truss to stop other trusses from going too far. Two things I did not know and did not have time to figure out. If someone knows the answer to my unknowns, please let me know, thanks.- 7 replies

This Is the problem with the way it is set up. It is not easily discernible as to what the extents are of each room. But no problem, I will continue building my silly boxes so I can get an area region that is easily identifiable. Isn't somebody listening at headquarters? This is assembling CD's 101.

That is clever Yusuf. But now, can you keep the curved bottom chord f you eliminate the ceiling plane and do an F12 (rebuild).

Was that not an unbelievable catch? I remember some great one handed catches by John JJ Jefferson of the Chargers, But Beckham's catch was unreal .

Super, but is there a hot key associated with it? If it does not have a hot key, then I am lost. I swear, once in a while, the tool bars still screw up, and I am like a fish out of water, I need my hot keys!

First off, I do not use a MAC mouse, I have a logitech, I did not like the MAC mouse for CA. I have a MAC mouse on home IMAC, and I miss the logitech mouse on home IMAC. Yes, I have a zoom wheel on my logitech, and I use it all the time when working with CA, love it. However, I think you are referring to having to use the +,- key to zoom in on PDF's, yes, I have to use the +,- on PDF's, the zoom wheel does not work.

Never mind, The P. man gave you the answer.

Here is a test, and I know the answer. You are in elevation. You draw a horizontal line, do you know how to make the elevation of that particular line at absolute zero?

Here is a vid for us nitwits who are trying to figuratedededed this out. http://youtu.be/Ir4ngFnQ6sc

Don't worry, I am too. I have done it both ways. I have stated why I use the Perry Method, I do not understand why someone does not address the differences between the Perry Method vs the Joey Method.
-
You and me on the same page.
-
P, I am so confused now. I disagree with what you just said. I just tested it. I like what I thought you had taught me. Jeez, if we are confused, I bet everyone else is confused. I now use what I call the P. method, nuts...... you guys do whatever you want, I do not print in color yet I get the greyscale, it works for me and my printing at the printer is better than it has ever been.
-
Absolutely agree with this approach. Dimension to CAD lines you put in and not to some lines that may or may not be created in a back clip cross section.
-
I think Joey prints in COLOR, I do not think you print in COLOR, but you have PREFERENCE defaults set so the if not printing in color, greyscale shows as greyscale. Maybe I am missing something.
-
I totally agree, a PLINE based area..... we have been talking about this for a couple of years now.
-
BTW, Perry ain't no Glenn Woodward (but then who is), but if you listen closely to what he says, there is usually a nugget in there.
-
I disagree with this, at least I think I do. That is the way I did it at one time. But now I do not print in color...... so how do we get the grey scale...... Perry taught me this...... and Joey, maybe you can tell me why Perry's method is not better..... go to PREFERENCES<APPEARANCE<DISPLAY<COLOR OFF IS: ........ and check GRAYSCALE, you will get a BLACK AND WHITE PRINT and the grey scale is truly greyscale. So what is wrong with Joey's method, the colors are truly in color and so when you send it to your printer, some of the COLORS (which you want to print in black), may be a bit washed out. Two methods, I used Joey's method until Perry taught me his method. I think I like Perry's method better because my colored lines in layout turn out black and yet I still get greyscale for my greyscale lines. Any comments? I am always open to different methods.

I agree, the material wraps but the drywall does not, not a problem for 3d views, but not absolutely correct. I agree, I think, that the top of sill level will top of window frame..... but it is not that way. I think what you are saying is the top of interior sill should be higher by the thickness of the sill and extend into opening up to the window frame. Take a look at the outside sill. It is not raised up the thickness of the sill yet it looks pretty good in 3d. Bottom line, something is amiss.
-
I think the drywall is intelligent enough wrap into opening. The problem is the SILL is not intelligent enough to go into the opening until it butts into window frame.

Sorry guys, my bad. Here it is. SILL STOPS 2.plan.zip
