  1. Is there some sort of an issue assigning materials in section view ? I am sure I have done this before successfully. For me the fastest way to add a layer to a lintel is to just do it in a section view camera. So copy the existing and move over with point to point and then resize by dragging to snap to the adjacent surface assign a new material from the library or plan materials and it all seems to work fine in a 3D camera view. Then I was working on the next stage about 10 minutes later and noticed it was all fowled up. Some materials went back to default but were not displaying as the default material and others claimed to be "Not Assigned" but were all displaying in a solid black rather than the chosen wood grain.
  2. Yes you don't want something that heavy falling on someone so proper attachment to footings would be advised. As for drawing it in chief..... This is just an 8" concrete stem wall with two elliptical arch doorways and a wall cap. Is that the look you are after ?
  3. Yes I thought so as well but it does not seem to be so. No harm in making a suggestion if that is your presentation preference.
  4. You must have switched you default rendering technique to Technical Illustration for elevation cameras which does not seem to display Opening Indicators. Switch back to Vector View and you should be fine.
  5. The living area calculated result seems to be hard coded to be a slightly smaller font and they will change in size proportionally when you make an adjustment but it seems you maybe want the two to be the same font size ? If so try this:
  6. Not sure what is going on here for sure but there is a method to use trusses to illustrate and over frame situation.
  7. Usually just lookouts that fowl up and won't generate properly not rafters in my experience. You may need to post the plan or send it in.
  8. No doors are not quite as easy as windows. Here is a short tutorial I wrote a while back that should help.
  9. A Garage room should be set by default to be "Exclude from Total Living Area Calculation" as well as "Unconditioned" so as soon as you assign the Garage Room type to a room it should be removed from the Total Living Area Calculation automatically. Is that not what you are experiencing ?
  10. Humm.... It seems they changed the DBX but not the core programming for X10. In X9 if you enter an additional angle 7.5 is automatically selected. So now it works the same but you have no clue what is going on.
  11. So for example you need to do some complex manual framing for a 5/12 roof system because these Allowed angles work for more than just walls... Try entering 22.619865° which is NOT (within 1/2 degree) of the selected 15° unless you think like a programmer and not a Designer or Architect or Engineer that is trying to produce a set of useful construction documents that are accurate.
  12. Not a logical reason... That is for sure..... Caution may cause damage to wireless computer components should be the warning that comes up. Instead it gives you this even if the angle you have selected is NOT (within 1/2 degree) of an existing angle you have selected.. Grr....
  13. It is helpful but definitely not a perfect solution. Once you start to use it and find it helpful it is a real downer to find out it only works on certain angles.
  14. You can place up to 8 Additional Angles into your General Plan Defaults and they will not give the warning and also allow you to snap to those angles for walls and accessories when angle snaps are turned on, which also helps.
  15. Ctlr + Alt + S is a better way to initiate the spin and the camera "Incremental Rotate Angle" determines the rpm. Every time you start will be in the opposite direction also.
  16. Sounds like you need two landings ?
  17. Aha.... No please don't. That is what surveyors do and it causes all kinds of problems and frustrations. Actually I think some of the survey software will do it automatically. Surveying should be a science not an art !
  18. You are quite welcome and hopefully with enough suggestions Chief will some day make some improvements to this system.
  19. As far as I know that is not actually a solution. It just allows you to keep working on a system that is not capable of properly rendering the scene.
  20. Definitely a known issue. Please send that in. It is really annoying an still plenty of time to get it fixed.
  21. Give soffits a try and see how that works for you.
  22. So I assume that means you have no idea why anyone would ever frame a situation like that in such an awkward way having tried to figure it out every time it happens ? I don't think it would even meet code here.
