Roof Materials Schedule - Where can I find Fascia, Soffit, Drip Edge?
Chopsaw replied to wazzubrad's topic in General Q & A
Also let us know how it works out. Some of those values were not reporting correctly the last time I checked so make sure you are confident that that math is working before you publish the schedule. -
So by normal do you mean the square side of the opening above the skylight ? If so then yes I think that would be the best option.
-
Try drawing it perpendicular rather than rotation after the fact.
-
That is definitely an intriguing situation but I would first check your file associations in your operating system but unfortunately I can't tell you how to do that on a Mac.
-
No not solely but you signature is causing a lot of confusion and it looks like you now have that fixed but this thread mentions nothing about X14 and I believe you are using an X14 new feature for your solution and not showing how you achieved it which is very confusing for anyone else reading through this thread and seeing the supposed correct answer.
-
Brad this is a mess..... In another thread you said you were using X14. You have a bunch of answers provided here for X13. Also it looks like you are showing an X14 solution without saying how you accomplished it ? If you are in fact using X14 and asking X14 questions you need to update your signature.

Help...electrical connection lines combine when edited
Chopsaw replied to texashouseplans's topic in General Q & A
Pretty sure I have seen that happen before but can't reproduce it in a small test plan. Have you sent tech a plan file with the issue? If you have and they can't figure it out you can always post the file here. -
Have you tried a Custom "Roof" Schedule ?

Actually if you only need it for a rendering you may be able to force a Quoin to do what you want.
-
Personally I would just use a p-solid in a situation like that but no harm in putting in a suggestion to be able to add a profile to a corner board so it is easier to do in the future.
-
Not sure that you can have terrain features without a terrain so it could be an issue with material visibility or application. It might be helpful to post the plan file.
-
(c) edit the wall polyline to cover the beam. P.S. Also we are no longer allowed to have LVL in an exposed situation anyway.
-
If you could post the plan file we could have a look at your specific situation.

Yes you should be able to get it back out of the library and edit it if it is still a p-solid. If you want it all as one you can create a symbol from the assembly but if the next client wants the same thing that is 4' shorter it would be good to also keep the original work in your library as symbols do not edit very well.

It seems to be a known issue that I have sent in but not enough others have sent in yet. So I would encourage you to do that and send it in. For now if there is a way you can control the layering such that you don't need to use a background fill with the hatch pattern you should be fine to print to PDF. Also some PDF viewers do not have as much of an issue with this as others so try that if it is an option.
-
I have not seen an issue that displays quite like that before. You would need to let us know what version you are producing the PDF with and likely post the plan file to be sure there are no artifacts in the plan that might be causing the problem. Are these the irregularities you are referring to ?
-
It is still better to keep that and just turn off the layer if you don't want to see it. "if a room is drawn within a larger structure and none of its walls connect to the exterior walls, either directly or indirectly by connecting to walls that do, it is referred to as an “island” room. The program will connect such a room to the larger structure with an Invisible Wall. See Room Dividers and Invisible Walls."

There was in X13.

Help needed to add drywall to wall ends
Chopsaw replied to MovingandShaking's topic in General Q & A
Pretty sure it is just the extra unexplained interior line the same as Charles posted but yes definitely worth checking. -

Is the main layer marked as "Framing" as Charles posted above? If it is you may need to post your plan file. -
I have seen plenty of bundles of unopened roofing on the top of the container loads being disposed from roofing jobs and I can assure you the client is paying for the extra shingles and the disposal of them. I will need to check again if materials are being calculated correctly for roofs but I have not seen anything in the update notes about it so I would advise people to check their material lists before submitting them.

Sure, once you are committed to manual roof planes they can be selected and adjusted manually one at a time or similar planes in a group. Sorry I suppose I should have looked at you file but yes stick with the build roof DBX if you are still doing auto roof.
