  1. I had that same question not long ago and Michael helped out but it is a little more complicated than it was before unfortunately. "You can still do that by placing a point and using Rotate/Resize About Current Point. Just switch to the RRACP edit mode, place your point, and then use the Resize edit mode (X)."
  2. Yes it seems Robert is sharing plan files for use with the Client Viewer or Compatible version of Chief software and yes the files can get to be too large to email even if zipped so the only practical solution it to use a cloud service. Or as Eric suggested the 3D Viewer.
  3. I think you just missed Michael but this should be doable if you draw your sloped cad line in elevation view and then convert to molding poly line and distribute in plan view. I have not been through the whole process but that is what I would try and Michael will likely be able to comment soon.
  4. As long as the computer is powered up and Chief Trial is kept open the plan is still there but I don't believe there is any way to get it out. Likely there was quite a bit of effort and electricity put into the trial version so understandably you would look for a way to save it.
  5. Trial Version Limitations Printing, Saving, Export, Virtual Tours Lew, Not so sure tech support can help as the trial versions are specifically designed as trial versions so that nothing of value can be produced.
  6. If you don't need much detail a soffit might be the quickest thing for a cover. Sloped and Placed under Roof.
  7. If you got all the way to layout without saving it sounds like you are doing well. Unfortunately I don't believe there is any way to transfer the data other than a screen shot so you will be starting out with a good practice session and opportunity to work on your efficiency.
  8. There are a lot of resolution issues I am still trying to figure out as the DBX's are very uninformative or misleading or even completely dysfunctional. However it often comes down to your screen resolution and view port size so I would start with that if the DBX is not giving you what you want. Just for that reason alone it would be great to have a full screen hot key.
  9. Yes it would not hurt to send it in even though I already submitted the link so that they have your view of the situation. If you go to to the top right of the forum screen to the drop down menu beside you user name you can check Your Attachments and how many downloads you have. Sorry to admit that I have not yet downloaded your files but appreciate you posting them and will grab them when needed. My problem that I have been working on all day has lead to a much larger problem unfortunately.
  10. No but that was not necessary as there were no custom materials. Other than the issue of chief finding them in my Core Catalog rather than the backup file.
  11. Mick & David, This may be a widespread X10 B3 issue as I just imported a plan file from another user and faced the same type of issues where wall textures were not imported, even default drywall, which is a serious concern. I will prepare a report and send it in with a reference to this thread just in case it helps. Perry, Sorry the re-start and re-boot trick did not work for me.
  12. They seem to be quite busy but Tech Support is handling and forwarding Bug Reports for Beta 3 testers.
  13. As in Nothing different ? I get PBR with Global Illumination and Standard view in PBR Mode with Enhanced Lighting set.
  14. If you select Global Illumination what happens ?
  15. You can turn PBR into standard render by selecting Enhanced Lighting in Preferences but that looks like they are both PBR ?? Maybe post the driver version in case anyone else has updated. Very strange indeed.
  16. Yes then I would recommend that you find a desktop within your budget that can be upgraded as you grow with the software and has the ability to add an extra screen or two.
  17. Unless you are going to take great advantage of the portability features I would say not a great choice for Chief Architect. It will work but a friend just junked his that was only a few years old when he got a windows 10 update and it said sorry your video card is no longer compatible with windows 10. Super frustrating when clients touch the screen when you are giving them a presentation and screw up your drawing. I would want to make sure the touch screen could be deactivate for that reason alone.
  18. As Eric says the soffit will trim to the bottom of the sub fascia but you will need to have "Trim Framing To Soffits" selected in the Roof Plane DBX under the Structure tab.
  19. Normally a roof with open rafters like that would have blocking installed over the wall plate and block the spaces this should mostly fill in with the correct settings and auto roof framing but can be added manually for other situations. There are a few specialized workarounds for hiding the roof sheeting but the simplest thing in your case would be to change the material in the roof DBX. If you get stuck give Tommy a call and take him up on his amazing offer before it expires, you will learn a lot.
  20. Yes I believe that is correct Rob. Also in Plan Defaults> Framing> Plan Display.
  21. Jeff, That is great. I am hoping that @Adrean is following along with us here, and if you did upload to the Chief Viewer for testing purposes, then maybe you could also provide that link for comparison purposes in the hope that Chief will eventually catch up to this quality of rendering in High Definition without distortion. Thanks Again. Great Work.
  22. Very Nice, Thank You. Then your Pano Settings are 8192 x 4096 or do you have another trick for the high resolution you achieved.
  23. Jeff, At first it was fuzzy and I was wondering what settings you used but then it sharpened right up and now I really want to know your settings. Nice Work !!!
