  1. Katharine, You seem to have narrowed the issue down to the 4 bathroom elevations which is a good start. Also as Mick pointed out earlier the shower elevations are no longer properly linked in the .zip file you posted. As a test I would open the 4 layout boxes ( A,B,C,D ) and in the Layout Box Specification DBX under the Camera View tab, switch them from "Live View" to "Plot Lines w/Color Fill". If that works then resend the shower elevations and do the same thing with them. I noticed in your first attachment you had image files that were in cloud storage linked to layout. Are your plan and layout files in that same cloud storage ? Tiger, This is a critical factor that I asked earlier, however we do not yet know what print driver Katharine is using as you have referenced the pdf file that Mick created and posted, so BullZip does work in this situation and we are not dealing with ArchD but rather 11x17".
  2. Not sure if this is the correct functionality or not but it seems that if the camera cuts the C channel it displays as a cross box in section view yet if the member is not cut it appears as a "C" . Any chance you move the camera ? Could not find a saved one.
  3. Everything seems fine here. What Print driver are you using ? I would go ahead and finish your work and post it for someone to make a PDF for you until tech opens on Monday and maybe can help find the issue. Maybe post a screen shot of your print settings to see if there is something obvious. I substituted the font but could fix that for a final version. 212 grove draft march 31.pdf
  4. It seems you have a bunch of picture files in the layout and you can optionally save those in the layout file by opening the DBX and under the General tab select "Save in Plan". Otherwise they are referenced from your computer and do not travel with the layout file. Or from layout go to File > Backup Entire Project > "Backup Plan Files and All Referenced Files" and optionally, "Send Backup Files to Zip Archive" for faster posting. Then someone may be able to help with or comment on the glitches as well.
  5. Not sure what is going on but seems to print ok, at least what is in the layout file as it is. I have crashed chief a few times by accidentally imputing the incorrect scale so it thinks it needs to print larger than actual size an attempts to do that. If you would like post the backup file I could likely print it to PDF for you.
  6. Yes there is still a general offset issue that I have reported to Chief several times and it was much worse when first introduced. There does seem to be a magnified issue with symbols and their angled edge lines as is very obvious in your first posting. Maybe there is an antialiasing setting somewhere we are both missing that Perry knows about ?
  7. Perry, I am not so sure that is how vector sections and elevations are handled. However very true for 3D camera views. Bill, I am assuming that steel section is a symbol because I am seeing the same thing with symbols in my plans. It seems to have something to do with the symbol Smoothing Angle but the effect is only very slight in my testing. Not really a solution yet.
  8. Change, edit, or make a new Text Style for the Layout Box Labels layer. Access through Active Layer Display Options.
  9. I think that depends on the original configuration of the cad block so you would have to rebuild the cad block and add the fill zones that you require.
  10. Unfortunately there are many ways to achieve this, but lets assume that you only need to change the ones the interfere occasionally. Select the dimension or string and open it to the Dimension tab and click Define then switch to Use Custom Text Style and then under Options select Transparent. As for the symbol DBX it is a little confusing at first because the one object has 2 DBX's. Look for this one on your toolbar when the symbol is selected.
  11. You can set that to be transparent for your dimension text style under options.
  12. If you open the symbol DBX under 2D Block it will allow you to apply a solid or transparent fill or you could create a custom cad block with lines to represent hatching.
  13. Make sure your "Roof, Openings" layer is turned on and you should be able to select and edit in 3D or floorplan, (roofplan)
  14. Yes I understand that Mick but it seems we have lost the ability to refer to a post # as many threads have done in the past which makes them all rather useless. There are times when a quick reference # is all that is necessary rather than a big long string of repetitive quotes that someone has to pay the storage bill on.
  15. Good point, How do we refer to post #n in this thread? Humm.... Did we loose it all with this new update. I thought updates were supposed to build on what we had ?
  16. 2 20.1.1.1 Update Notes 2.2 Ray Tracing • Fixed a problem that could cause black squares to appear in ray trace images in some cases. Seems like that was fixed. Are you using update 2 20.1.1.1 ? If so it likely needs to be sent in to tech support again.
  17. Yes, both are factors. Make your active window as large as possible for the best resolution.
  18. Just to be clear Mark, I was not stating system requirements. Rather System Recommendations. As CA does not clearly state the difference in expected performance.. PC and Mac Recommended 16 GB of memory 50 GB of available hard disk space 4 GB or 8 GB gaming video card The Whole Story as stated by Chief Architect here : https://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/sysreq.html PC and Mac Recommended
  19. You may be pushing the limits of your graphics card now that CA recommends a dedicated 4-8 GB card. However this should still be sent in. There may be some other settings you can use to keep using your current setup. If you would like to run the file in X9 there should be a usable copy in your X10 Archives folder.
  20. One setting that may help you out a bit is in Foundation Defaults : "Hang 1st Floor Platform Inside Foundation Walls" but you will likely still have some editing to do after that. Also when posting detailed questions it really helps to include some screen shots and in situations like this the .plan file can be quite helpful as well.
  21. B, It is just a matter of figuring out what level the trailer frame is at and setting that to be at the level of your floor framing by using the trailer symbol DBX or Transform and Replicate Dialogue. You could even select it in 3D or elevation view and just eyeball it and place it in the correct position.
  22. You could adjust the Room elevation to sit on top of the trailer but it would likely be easier to keep the subfloor at the default 00 and move the trailer and terrain down to accommodate.
  23. You may be dealing with more than one issue there but you could likely fix it by making your invisible wall style one single framing layer only.
