Use the Adjust Material Definition tool and under the Texture tab change the Angle to match your stairs and play with the scale or select "Stretch to Fit".

I am not exactly sure why Chief did what it did or if you may have exposed a flaw in the programming logic by the process you followed. However it should be relatively simple if you select all the framing and copy it down a floor and it should maintain the same absolute elevation if you are lucky.

Shawn, You should be able to adjust the angle and scale of the railing panel material in the images you just posted to make them more consistent with the horizontal sections. Maybe even make the railing and newels match a little better. Not sure what exactly the client requested but maybe something like the attached clip.

Is there a specific room that is an issue or all of them ? You may want to post your operating system and computer specifications in your signature.

I wonder if maybe having more than one camera in the scene may be an issue. The plants do not know which camera they are smiling for as they have to rotate towards it, and I have noticed that some plants do not rotate about their point of origin very well.

Yes convert to Elevation Lines and when you do that it will allow you to enter the elevation. You just need to decide if you are going to use the sea level elevations on the survey or convert them to your floor level.

Yes at a glance they look a lot the same. Makes it difficult to learn for sure. I very rarely use the Layer Display options. I think they must have come before Active Layer Display Options, that I almost always have on.

This one usually default about center of top toolbar

Active Layer Display Options do the same thing but I like using them better because you can watch what each adjustment does live.

Thanks Glenn, That was a weird one for sure. Looks like if you convert a Polyline to a Terrain Perimeter it does not transfer to the Terrain Perimeter Layer unless it is on the CAD default layer to start with. Humm.... Does that sound correct ? Lady Coralie, Turn on Your Active Layerset display when in 3D and follow Glenn's previous instructions.

You could just put the new notes on a new layer and turn off the old ones if you like. Not sure if there is an easy way to do it within Chief.

That sounds like the perfect situation to just print 2 separate PDF's and then combine them as layers in Acrobat or another advanced pdf handler. Or even just add the revision clouds and notes with the free version of Reader.

I went ahead a did the update today and things are still ok. Hope you are able to get it figured out somehow.

Yes Roof Plane is the way to go, 0 out surface and make structure 8" or so of concrete.

Are there a lot of places in the plan that is happening ? Maybe replace the offenders with 3D plants for now.

Usually the truss company will specify all necessary connectors. Depends on the uplift potential. USP RT3A on one of my recent builds.

Oh Sorry I forgot I have not done the latest CA update as there was nothing in the notes that applied to my situation. Will give it a try and let you know.

If you are wanting to see this in 3D then you can create a symbol of the original terrain and then in a new plan file edit your existing terrain data to reflect the new elevations. If it is just 2D that you need create a cad detail from view of the existing contours and place that on a dedicated layer so it can be turned on and off as required.

No problem here but have not updated my driver for a while as I am waiting to hear back from Nvidia on a 3D PDF display issue that I sent in. Possibly roll back to a known good driver. Does it have anything to do with plan file size ?

Yes I believe there are issues with plants and layering that have been posted in the past and may not be resolved yet. Definitely something that should be sent in to tech support with the plan file and a good clean description of the issue. One general trick that may help is to CTRL + X and then CTRL + ALT + V just to see if a reinsertion may help. I think the last issue I saw posted was plants and people not layering properly which would be even more obvious.

Go back to where you turned on signatures and fill out your own signature. Include the important stuff like your version of Chief and your operating system,cpu specs, ram,storage system,video card and driver version. And keep it updated so others know if they can be helpful or not without asking a ton of questions. See my example below.
