I think that even in Premier you would need to make two concentric setbacks and then manually combine them. There should not be an accuracy issue doing this if you get the correct snap points. Just delete the extra lines.

Converting Collada DAE files to FBX - not working
Chopsaw replied to OnlineBuilder's topic in General Q & A
I don't have a lot of experience with this yet but my preliminary research lead me to DAZ and Blender as options. -
Wow, that is interesting. Keep us posted if that is not the complete solution.

Try to reassign that fir framing from the X10 Core catalog and see what happens......
-
Check the actual Material Definition for where the particular material is referenced from as it may not even be looking in you Referenced file directory. Who knows maybe chief needs to fix the way files are handled and referenced as it seems it would be quite a pain to reassign them all individually, but there may also be a more straight forward way. Ok sounds like you are on the right track now......
-
I think you did say that it was really bad in you template file and just the background in the Profile plan. So not sure how it all works exactly but I think that is the direction to look. Try to reassign a corrupted material straight from the core catalog and see what happens.
-
It may not hurt to run it by tech support as purple is the color that shows up when there is an issue with the material file. Mick and I had to chase down a material one time and we were surprised to find where is was actually referenced from. I think the conclusion was chief looks first to your template file for recently used materials. Does that sound correct Mick ? Here is an older thread in which I also provided a link to a previous situation.

In X8 you will need to use a manual panel railing that is set to follow stairs. No problem in X10.
-
Yes I believe that look requires manual framing but if you just need a skirt the railing wall can provide that with an exterior layer in the wall definition. I put them on docks as fascia boards.

What type of objects are they ? There still seem to be some rendering issues with elevations that chief is working on. It might not hurt to send them the plan file so we can make sure they get it all fixed for X11.
-
Kevin, Now that you have isolated the problem to just the background it may make sense that it is just an issue with chief not finding or reading the image file correctly. Run a search on "Purple" and there are a couple of X10 threads I have participated in. It just looks way too familiar.

Yes it is reproducible and seems to have something to do with the pdf resolution and not the rotation or transformation or angle, but something I have not seen before. Will send in to tech on Monday. Thanks.
-
Neither can I. I will show you if you have a moment.
-
Be sure the file is closed before uploading and zip if over 25MB
-
Has anyone else been seeing any thing like this after using transform and replicate to rotate and then print to PDF. Screen capture of PDF and corresponding Plan View. The rotation does not seem to matter. It distorts just being on an angle
-
Yes to my knowledge that should be working fine. I may need to defer to someone more knowledgeable or tech support. Are you using plan views ?
-
Now there is an amazingly simple solution. I may have to try that for moldings that are drawn in elevation that are less than a pixel in plan view and see if it works. Thanks.

Sounds like you maybe have "Make Copy of Active Layer Set" selected in the Send to Layout DBX under the Send Options tab and you are not giving an independent name and just using the default "Layout Set 1". If you have a layer set for each view you are sending to layout you don't need to use this feature at all. If that is not it I would need to take a detailed look at your plan file which I have not done yet.

A list would be a great idea but for now you can use the tab key to drill down through the nearby items although sometimes it is easier to turn off or lock some of the items that seem to always be selected first.

Lighting anno & layer vs Electrical anno & layer
Chopsaw replied to Evolution's topic in General Q & A
Great Idea. All you need to do is change all your electrical lights to use the electrical lighting layer rather than electrical and save them into you user library. Then when you know it is all working assign them as defaults. -
It can be done but there are a lot of issues to overcome, including scale, materials, orientation, and the big one is surface count. Typically 4-5 million polygons that would need to be reduced to be of much use in chief. I think I had the best success using a .dae export from Daz.

The light in the dining room is checked to show position camera view.

Check for a duplicate point light.
