That's a step in the right direction anyway. Silly that this was not an option before.

Thanks Robert. Its interesting that Chief uses this method as the default for decks. You don't see many decks built like Chief default builds them, at least not in our area.
  3. So we do not build decks the way Chief builds them automatically. We don't run intermediate beams and cantilever our decks out. Our deck posts go all the way out to the corners of the deck. Is there any way of getting deck posts to go down to the ground without turning off the posts and beams and then manually drawing under the deck. Surely there has to be a way. Chief 14 user, thanks in advance for any assitance.
  4. David, Thanks. I actually just found a solution. I went in plan view and adjusted my wall layer intersections for the brick and it took care of the problem. By the way, I watch a ton of your videos and they are extremely helpful. Thank you for posting these and assisting all the Chief users.
  5. I am having troubles with gable to wall intersection. It is only happening where I have multi-pitch gables. You can see from the pics the open triangle that is forming between the outside wall and the soffit. I've tried everything I know to fix it. I can make it "look" correct in 3d view by pulling down the attic wall to cover it up, but then I have the overlap lines that show up in the elevation view. I know I can edit those lines in the layout, but I'd prefer to find a way to fix this. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I've searched the forum and cant find any previous posts on this specifically. Thanks, Justin
  6. This did the trick. Thank you so much.
  7. Thanks. This was a good idea and worked well.
  8. Thank you so much. Here is the attached file. I've also been struggling with the notching of the gable faces at the overhang area. Is there an easy fix for this? Plans Redraw.zip
  9. I have a double sided brick wall that I am having trouble figuring out how to get the wraps on the ends to act correctly. The air gap is not continuing correctly around the end of the wall, so it shows incorrectly in both plan and elevation views. I've tried adjusting line layer intersections and it usually works, but not on the end of a wall. Any asistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Justin
  10. Ah ha. I see what I did wrong now. Thank you so much for the response. I had been having fits with this for awhile. ustin
  11. Good afternoon. I have realy been struggling with retaining walls and I am sure I am missing something simple. What I am trying to do doesn't seem like it should be overly difficult. I have a walkout basement condition and trying to put in a retaining wall. I used two different elevation regions to create my lot slope. But where they have to come together at the retaining wall, its trying to interpolate between the two and messing up my grade. On the high side I want the grade to follow the retaining wall. I am posting a couple of pics, as well as my Chief File. If anyone can help I'd sure appreciate it. Thanks, Justin Plan.zip
