  1. I had originally misunderstood you. I was under the impression you were using the word western as in "America is a western nation and China is an eastern nation". It seems now though as if you were using the word western as in "Western films...cowboys and shootouts and the OK corral and so on." I would say the examples you have posted are a mixture of lodge, rustic, southwestern, and texan furniture among other things. Maybe do a search of... -Lodge furniture manufacturer -Rustic furniture manufacturer -Texan furniture manufacturer -Southwestern furniture manufacturer Or some combination of those terms. At least that might be a good starting point.
  2. Definitely a bug, but for what it's worth, you do have 2 different lintel sizes in play. One is 5-1/2" and the other is 5-1/4".
  3. This would of course work, but the OP already stated concerns regarding what would happen if they tweaked the grade later. Problem with using the edit layout tool, as I'm sure you know is that ANY tweaks to the plan and any updated views would need to be edited all over again. With a CAD mask there is a very good chance any changes to the plan will have no effect on the mask at all. And even if they do, it's a lot easier to drag the edge of a mask than it is to delete a dozen or more extra lines.
  4. Those CAD "masks" are really probably a lot easier than they sound to you and are really your friend in my opinion. They are almost a necessity if you want to add notes to section views and keep things live. And you really only need to create one or 2. Just put them in your library for easy access. Either that or just copy and paste them from the plan itself.
  5. Us Westerners may need some clarification as to what exactly you're talking about. Its probably just plain furniture to us. Maybe a couple pictures?
  6. Don't have time to delve into your problem right now...I'm sure somebody probably will here shortly. I DO want to take a moment to give you get a point though for posting the plan. Well done sir...well done.
  7. DBX on this forum = Dialogue box. When you double click on a window for example, the window DBX opens up and then you can change the width and height of the window in that DBX. I was referring to the symbol dbx where you can set the angle of your symbol...couch, car, sink, or even custom Korean roof pieces.
  8. The answer to that question depends partially on how the p-solid was created. Was it created in plan view or in elevation view? If it was created in elevation, you should be able to use the rotate handle. If it was created in Plan view you, you may need to either… A. Convert to a solid and then rotate in an elevation view... OR B. Convert the solid to a symbol and rotate it via the symbol DBX.
  9. If you made a symbol as I suggested above, those changes would be much much easier than the way you are doing it now.
  10. Did you check your wall type definition? Your wall finishes may be assigned to the wrong layers (i.e. your siding is defined as an interior layer and your drywall is defined as an exterior layer ).
  11. Just a wild guess here without a plan, but I'd bet you have your exterior walls backwards...siding inside and drywall outside. OR...your wall definition is wrong...you have your interior and exterior layers mixed up.
  12. ...or what Joe said INSTEAD of resetting your toolbars. What Joe said wont work though if you have dragged the edit bar off screen or shut it down altogether. Edit: Actually, what Joe said will work even if you have dragged it off screen or shut it down. Only if you go and and lock the toolbars though...go figure. Edit again: You shouldn't even have to right click and the edit bar should appear somewhere (could only get this to happen after locking the toolbars though in my experiments).
  13. Or... Try Tools>Toolbars and Hotkeys>Customize Toolbars>Toolbar>Reset Toolbars You may have inadvertently moved it or shut it down. For this reason I would suggest Tools>Toolbars and Hotkeys>Lock Toolbars once you have things where you want them.
  14. You can also consider just going into preferences whenever you need to check things and temporarily changing your background back to white.
  15. For the record, I didn't previously realize how easy this actually was until Kevin suggested using the spray can and going through the list. I checked to see how fast that method was and discovered the eyedropper thing by mistake. Previously what I had always done was to use the library browser to search for the material I wanted>Show In Browser>Copy>Paste into my user catalog and then adjust from there. The new way is definitely faster and easier.
  16. First click on the material eyedropper and select the material. Then click on the material painter (spray can). The material you previously selected will automatically be highlighted. Then either copy and adjust or add to library and adjust. Easy peasy.
  17. I think you just don't have a clear understanding of how to set up your annotation sets.
  18. Just to clarify... Are you using something other than a white background in plan? And if so, do you have "Show Drawing Sheet In View" checked in layout?
  19. Both are pretty basic. Probably covered in the Help files but here's where you go...
  20. Lower right of reply window...More Reply Options...Lower left of the new window that pops up...Browse...select the file you want to attach...Attach This File.
