  1. Looks like you need to update your signature, Scott. It says "Chief X-11 (alway the latest)".
  2. @PamelaTProbably need to "tag" him to make sure he looks at this thread again. Just type "@" without the quotation marks and continuing typing his username until the list that appears shows the usernames you can scroll thru. Click on his and it will notify him. @Dermot
  3. I think that's the way I would approach it.
  4. Double click on the railing walls you want to change (usually better to adjust the railing wall defaults before you draw any railing walls; you can then save them in your user library for reuse). The dialog box that opens up is where you set the items you wish to change. The "room" sets things like the height of the ceiling and any floor structure.
  5. Do you have "Auto Rebuild Attic Walls" on? Found in Defaults/General Wall Defaults/Automatic Walls, toward the bottom. Should be "Defaults/Walls/General Wall Defaults/Automatic Walls, toward the bottom.
  6. @builtright3 Joe, if you will add a "call" @Bob_DeWitt_PE he might respond. Otherwise, he may not come back to this thread for whatever reason. Thanks, Mike
  7. @HibjurOnline Railing wall with "post to beam" checked as style. Use whatever "pillar" symbol you want for the newels. Set the room formed by the railing walls as "open below" if you don't want a floor. The roof will auto-build based on the roof parameters you set in the wall dialog boxes.
  8. Forgot to mention: I have a Saved Plan View (SPV) just for presentation views. That's what I use for my screen captures. Has only the info I need for marketing. You could do the same using Annosets (don't remember if X7 has those.) If not, just use a layerset modified to suit.
  9. Does a screen capture saved to either jpg or png format not work? I have done many Powerpoint presentations over the years using just picture files.
  10. +1 for this little tidbit. Didn't know that trick either.
  11. I do set things like windows and doors, in the elevation layer set, to something like 25; same way with railings. Makes them stand out from the pattern lines. I also set the roof planes to 40 in the elevation layer set as well as the corner boards and the foundation walls - I like the outline of the building and main features to really stand out.
  12. I like to use a line weight of 1 for my patterns; gives them a subtle presence so they don't overwhelm the edge lines. Most of my edge lines are usually 25-40. Your attached elevations above look fine to me...more like what I would normally do. So, is my normal...normal? Probably not; not sure there is one among users since we are all individuals.
  13. I noticed that layer name is in all caps. I get that quite often if I import an Autocad file, especially surveys.
  14. I do it this way sometimes so I can maintain the room lighting (as Glenn says). If you save the camera in that position it will usually lose the room lighting next time it is opened for some reason. At least that is how it has worked for me in the past. Not sure if the "Hide Camera-facing Exterior walls" works with the room lighting, whether the room lighting still works or if it is lost in that view.
  15. I was thinking all the lots (entire subdivision) on one sheet, thus the question.
  16. Pardon my ignorance, but can you actually apply/read any notes on that many 2-acre lots plotted to a 13x19 sheet?
  17. I do that, but I sure didn't remember that one.
  18. I didn't have it in my library either. Time to upgrade, obviously.
  19. @solver Eric, is that one you downloaded? I thought I had seen that one before, but my library doesn't have that one - that I could find with a search. I tried using "direct" also in a search and it didn't pull that one up.
  20. After I posted, I noticed you wanted a rectangular one. The one in the library is round. Might could "fake" one of the dryer-type vents. 3D Warehouse?
  21. There is one in the library. Just type "vent" in the search window and it pulls up several. The wall vent is down the list a few.
  22. This old dog learned something new also. Thanks, Glenn.
  23. That's why I don't usually use Auto interior; just too busy. It takes me more time deleting or modifying the ones I don't want than to just add the interior dims manually. I know I can set up what the Auto dimensions dimension to but that is sometimes problematic.
  24. Same here, but I also agree it should be automatic as that's the way it is done in the real world.
