Thanks, guys. I kind of like the purple - easy to spot!
-
Mine are always in vector view; that's what i use most to send to layout.

Good video, Michael - straight forward explanation. +1

I have had a similar thing happen in X8 with cabinet labels showing up thru walls on interior elevation cabinet elevations when cabinets were on the backside of the same wall. I never could figure out what was going on. And not all of the labels from the backside would show up - only some.
-
Thanks, guys. That is good to hear.

Did the migration of X8 libraries go well as touted?

Are you guys who have been running X9 finding it stable so far? I usually wait before I download any new version but there are some things in this version I really like and would like to start using it. I just don't want to start any new projects in X9 and find it is buggy. Too much work to redo in X8. This is just the same old question always asked by someone with each new version. Thanks, Mike

If the camera is still active (open), it will probably show up. Close the camera and it should disappear.

I usually just grab the dimension text (one or the other) and just move it down the dimension string to get it clear. It won't be centered in the line but displays clear - far more important.

Thanks, Michael. The Handdfn is certainly one I am going to try - I like it!

Flipping or reflecting a full set of plans

Would certainly be useful in these situations. -
Thanks, Michael. I changed to a different color rather than messing with the grayscale setting.
-
Thanks, Michael. That worked - kind of. The method works but the software seems temperamental in which colors it allows. I have my cameras set for different layers for different layersets and anno sets. I was using a dark orange for this particular group of cameras. I also have a dark green, red and dark blue. The orange color will not print dark - only white. I guess I will have to experiment to find a different color. Still seems odd to me. It would be OK if it just printed a different shade of gray - that would make sense to me.

I want to bump this thread. I get it that active cameras do not have the fill displayed. But when using a Wall Elevation camera in X8, how do you change the color of the fill? I can turn the fill on and off but mine show a white fill when turned on and will not print black. The cross section cameras show black and print black. Is there a way to change the Wall Elevation camera default to a black fill? By the way, this is what the Help File shows when I did a search: • Specify the appearance of the Callout Arrow. Choose None, a Small arrow, or a Large arrow. Uncheck Filled if you do not want a solid filled arrow. Note: Callout arrows only display as filled when a camera is inactive. Inactive camera callout arrows are unfilled. Surely the last sentence is a typo.

Lew, I stumbled onto something that worked on one computer and not the other. For some reason, my desktop, running Win 7 Pro, would not work thru the USB to Parallel connector to the plotter. My laptop, with the same setup except running Win 7 Home Edition, worked just fine. I could never determine what the difference was. Both had the same generic driver that was touted as a solution. I was just too busy at the time to dig further (and still am, thankfully).

I have a HP 755 CM. I had the same problem with Win 7 - no driver. I tried downloading several different drivers that supposedly worked. Never could get mine to work. Win 7 would send the print job, but it was as if it would get hung up in the print cue and never get released. I resorted to saving to PDF first (one of the greatest things I could of done) and printing the file from a laptop I had; still doing it that way. Not that much of a hassle.

Wall display issue where invisible wall meets wall end
Ridge_Runner replied to dskogg's topic in General Q & A
Have you tried zooming in to grab them? -
I'm with Alaskan on this one. The snap grid is great for laying out walls. But, unless it is set to 1/8," it doesn't work well for other things. When the grid is set to 1/8" it becomes a pain in the butt to use active for several of the items Alaskan mentions. Use the right tool for the job at hand; don't use a table saw when a skilsaw would work better.

How to fix walls NOT going to vaulted ceiling when they should?
Ridge_Runner replied to Jonnoxx's topic in General Q & A
I'll second that. What a debt of gratitude this country owes its veterans! Thank you David, and all veterans, for your sacrificial service. -
I do something similar to what Bob mentioned. I just rename things to what makes sense to me.

Wasn't there a thread just recently that had a comment(s) about the Chief Data Folder needing to be located on the boot drive CA is installed on? I don't remember for sure. Mike

You probably know BT but you can always save down to other versions of SU. I usually go down to version 8 for symbols. Mike

I would get as many bricks as possible where the shadows (or the lack of I should say) will not cause it to "tile" - meaning a color variation that will be hard to eliminate without extensive post touch-up later. The last "good" one I did was about 6-bricks wide x 12-bricks tall. There will be some cropping later to get it usable. I always crop half-way in the mortar joints; that seems to get a better pic to later make a seamless texture with the least amount of work. You will have a half-brick every other row to deal with. Sometimes it is easy to blend and sometimes it is more difficult; depends on the brick. Mike edit: As far as scaling, I place the new texture in the wall definition and then take an elevation view. I then zoom in and measure the joints. I then go back and adjust the texture ratios as necessary. It goes pretty quick.

turn off dimension scaling while zooming ?

Thanks, Chop. I have been hitting the "print preview" forever to get around this little dilemma; never even considered looking there. Mike
