  1. Place the sliding door and change specs in DBX
  2. When you select your line open Specification box like others suggested and on the line style select show length and angle.
  3. Are you looking for someone to make you that hood?
  4. Don't have much time to play around with this, have to be someplace, but I would make this roof much simpler to frame. Just run one straight gable from one end to another and add gables on the sides right into the main gable.
  5. Just got a notice that Wood-Mode cabinetry unexpectantly closing its doors after 77 Years.
  6. Next year when a $600 version update comes out maybe they will add cantilever marking :-) can't have everything in one version release.
  7. I agree with the above, something is not right with set-up or most likely your video card. Post that plan so we can open it here and try it on our systems. Here is a mirror from the library
  8. I do the floor and do the foundation, uncheck <automatically rebuilt foundation> then cut the part of the wall that needs to be cantilevered and pull the wall pass foundation.
  9. What Eric said you need to break that model up onto floor sections in SketchUp and bring them into CA
  10. Chopsaw, I didn't pay attention to the file format. I'm not sure how .is it was saved in .skb format, but with SketchUp, you can save files up to Sketchup 2003 version P.S I see what happened. .SKB is a backup file was created along with.SKP file. it's exactly the same thing when I adding the file I selected the wrong one.
  11. Hi Ray, here is the symbol with a .skp extension if you didn't change it yet per Chopsaw suggestion. I think I modeled in the newer Sketchup version. Simpson Post Cap.skp
  12. Joey, I made you one in Sketchup case you didn't find it yet. Simpson Lolly Column Cap.skb
  13. Is this what you trying to do? Natalie Donihoo_roof.plan
  14. Here you go FDB Not sure if you wanted open under stairs or not, I closed it for you. Next time check winders and pull the stairs onto a wall. Amhaus_-_Copy 1.plan
  15. Mick beat me to it... but that's how you set that up.
  16. If you want the top of the deck to be 3' off the ground and have the house floor to be 3 1/2" from the top of the deck. When you create your terrain set the terrain to be 39 1/2" then select your deck and lower the floor 3 1/2" . Don't mind the dimensions in the picture its just the way my dimensions set up. 1/1
  17. What I'm gonna do with you Dave... You just to good to be true! Thank you for this, much appreciated as always!
  18. It took about 5-8 min, all it was is the use of a few plugins. Pipe along the path, Extrusion plugins, and Radial bend... If you take the time you can make that chair to look better than in the picture. That said I wouldn't even consider modeling anything in chief other than basic stuff you can slap together in a few minutes. Chief is not for making 3D furniture models or anything else for that matter, it's a drafting program to make plans, etc Making 3D models especially with curves, etc it's to time-consuming because if it takes you 30 min to make something in Chief, it will take you 5 min in Sketchup because it's a model making software and all of the plugins are free (95% of them). As an example take a look at this plugin it costs a little bit but the number of things you can create just by putting a few minor details together.
  19. GF, I'm not that good with videos but here is a quick chair I made for you in SketchUp. I didn't get into the details much (have a family function) but maybe you can use it. Merry Christmas! ChairCA.calibz
  20. Beautiful job as always! Merry Christmas my friend to you and your family!
  21. You don't need to export CA symbols to SketchUp, if you have SketchUp you can build that chair inside Sketchup in 5 min.
  22. Inkscape is free and it's an awesome program.
