I just tried in X16 and was able to export a 10,000 pixel image just fine. I was going to do 20,000 but Chief told me that would be 750 MB so I decided I didn't need it.
-
I wasn't the one the downvoted you and it seems like a legit question to me though. I did not try it in X16 but it has always worked in the past for me. Have you tried it recently?

Accurate dimension lines when applying side panels to kitchen cabinets
DBCooper replied to Vicki17's topic in General Q & A
Try turning on "Doors/Drawers/Panels" in your dimension locate settings under cabinets. It seems to pick up automatic and manual side panels then. -
You can already specify the image resolution to be whatever you want. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/5316/high-definition-image-export-with-transparency.html?playlist=108

You could always read the update notes or even download it and try it. -
I'm Done With Recessed Lights Snapping To Furniture...

I see that they just released the 26.2 update today. According to the update notes, that was fixed. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/updates.html -
Creating HVAC Ductwork/Attach a "Library" Vent to a shape.
DBCooper replied to jjifmeyer's topic in General Q & A
No need to go look for one on 3D warehouse if there is already one in the Chief library that will work for you. -
I think changing it in either the preferences, view menu, or using the toolbar button will all do the same thing because it's a global setting. It would probably be best for you to post a simple copy of plan with the problem so someone could take a look at it. I'm still guessing it's a drawing sheet setup problem.

Creating HVAC Ductwork/Attach a "Library" Vent to a shape.
DBCooper replied to jjifmeyer's topic in General Q & A
You should be able to move it out from the wall in a plan view and then position it vertically in an elevation view. It won't actually attach to the solid but it should look fine in both views. You might be able to block them together but I'm not sure it is really necessary. -
Check your drawing sheet setup. Make sure your scales are setup correctly. More info can be found here: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00923/understanding-and-adjusting-line-weights.html

Creating HVAC Ductwork/Attach a "Library" Vent to a shape.
DBCooper replied to jjifmeyer's topic in General Q & A
That's a window symbol so it's not going to work. I think they are meant to be used in a foundation wall as a vent and can't be moved out of the wall. Search the library to see if you have a wall register that will work. -
Error Messages When Opening and Closing X15 Using Windows 10
DBCooper replied to DHerb2014's topic in General Q & A
I don't think an uninstall/reinstall will fix any preferences. You might need to use the reset preferences tool. You might also need to rename your X5 data folder since I don't think that gets reset when you uninstall/reinstall. Renaming it is better than deleting it just in case there is something important you need like a custom template or toolbars. When you first run the program afterwards, it should make a new data folder and copy the original ones that were installed. Once you are up and running you should be able to manually copy anything you need from the renamed folder into the new folder. If doing both of those does not solve the problems, then I guess you will need to call tech support in the morning. -
In your elevation or plan view, make sure line weights are turned on and that the drawing scale matches what you are sending it to layout as.

This sounds familiar.

The easiest way to get something that acts like something else is start with a copy. Find the afci outlet in the library and copy it to your user library and then make the changes you need. If all you want to do is change the label then you can use the edit cad block tool to change the text to whatever you want it to be.
-
If you are using X16 you can just delete those posts and then place shorter ones manually. In older versions, I think you would have to break the wall into 3 pieces and then you should be able to turn off the post at the start and end.

Probably not available in HD Pro. See if you have the tool for polygon decks. Then you could change the deck rails into walls (making sure to change the wall type to something more appropriate) and then change the deck room type into something else. If not, see if you have the cad tool under boxes. Then you could draw your walls snapped to the cad lines. If not, you should still be able to lay it out manually. Just set each wall length first and then the angle going around clockwise.

X15 has "no room moldings" in the wall dialog.

For a second there I thought you might be posting from the great beyond. Both rich text and plain text have some pros and cons. I use both but probably use plain text way more often than rich text. Rich text can handle multiple fonts, colors, and sizes all within the same object. Rich text can't use text styles though and text styles can be super powerful. The only thing you can change through layers is the color and that only works if you don't change any of the colors in your rich text. Plain text can only have one font, one color, and one size within the same object. Plain text can be setup to use text styles though which can make it much easier to change lots of text very quickly. Another thing to keep in mind is that there is a preference that lets you choose whether the leader line tool creates rich text or plain text. Also, you can convert plain text to rich text using an edit button but there is no similar tool to convert it back. If you want more info, these videos cover both rich text and plain text: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/253/using-text-text-styles-and-rich-text.html?playlist=99 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/78/text-and-arrow-tools.html?playlist=99

Yes. Open the wall dialog and look at the options on the general page. Keep in mind that if the wall spans multiple rooms, you will probably need to add a break otherwise it will remove the molding for all rooms the wall makes. If you need more control over your moldings, then click on the room and use the "make room molding polyline" tool. Now you can edit it just like any other molding polyline.

Not really sure that they need to be (or even should be) solid railings but my guess is that the boards you are seeing are just the wall caps that you can turn off.
-
Instead of trying to offset the top rail, bottom rail, posts, and then the panel, you can just offset the whole railing using the "horizontal offset" on the "rail style". Then you can use the other settings to fine tune things like if you want a railing to be aligned with one side of the post or whatever.
-
When I open your deck room I get the warning message about your deck being over a non-deck room. I think the solution is to change it into a different room type. See if this tech article helps: https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00065/message-deck-is-over-a-non-deck-room-framing-may-not-be-correct.html As for your post and beam railings, the beams will be at the room's ceiling height. You can adjust the ceiling height to move it up/down. You can also move just the beam up on the "rails" page using the "vertical offset" but this will give you gap between the beam and the post. The other thing you can do is just manually draw your beams.
