  1. My List of available Libraries as of Sept 15th 2022 Here or in the 1st Post......... Chief Libraries Sept.15th 2022.pdf
  2. Sounds like a Support Issue to me as I'm not sure I have seen this reported here before. M.
  3. Yes , use the Lintel and Sill Options , if you draw your own Molding Profile you can even have the Crown and Parting Bead as part of the Lintel ( Header Trim ) if needed ( turning on Wrap to return molding to wall ) I would use the Basic Sill and turn on the Apron perhaps , the Apron is automatically the same size as the Casing including the Sill Depth, so if needed you can also draw your own sill Molding including the Apron too. Mick.
  4. No seen that Issue before..... did you just upgrade to X14? did you reboot the computer afterwards? ( usually helps with chief "Weirdness" ) M.
  5. This means nearly always you have two schedules somewhere , eg one in plan and another in a CAD Detail. M.
  6. No as mentioned Chief does this dynamically based on Floor structure and adding 6 - 8" for ground clearance that is require by code in most areas. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00938/how-the-height-of-floors-relate-to-the-height-of-the-terrain.html M.
  7. Another monitor ? , possibly one no longer connected or turned off ? M.
  8. It's a bit brute force but you can reset the DBXs in Preferences.....
  9. yes...... the Arrow Key bumps are the same as your Snap Unit in Defaults > Layout
  10. You still aren't saying or better showing us what Height you are changing ...and why, so we really can't help explain things better for you sorry. M.
  11. Yes make sure you always build a Roof and/or story above and a Foundation / Monoslab below and turn down the default sun Lumens from 100,000 to 5000. M.
  12. I've seen some strange height issues in X14 so you could Check the Objects Absolute Height if it is below 0" for example it would show on Level 0 not Level 1 as an example.... but it is more likely that on conversion it is changing layers to one not displayed. M.
  13. Use either of the Window's Snipping Tools , and you can post the capture straight into the Reply area here on the Forum Because they are all related. Correct...... but you may need to explain a bit more precisely what you are changing and why you think they shouldn't change......as there is no way to Lock certain heights in the Room DBX due to them all being related. M.
  14. Chief has many short tutorials in the KnowledgeBase ( KB ) and there is one on Barrel Vaults, so that maybe a good point to start........ https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00650/creating-a-curved-barrel-ceiling.html there are several Videos too under Ceilings.... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/videos/watch/10203/ceilings-vaults-barrels-treys.html?playlist=96 As for Tray Ceilings if you are using Invisible Walls as maybe needed I think from looking at your Pic it is usually best to use the Old Polyline Solid Method vs Chief's Automatic Trey Ceilings which do not play well with Invisible Walls. Ceiling_Creating-a-trey-or-coffered-ceiling-using-polyline-solids.pdf Ceilings_Creating-a-Curved-Barrel-Ceiling.pdf M.
  15. Have not looked at the Plan , but All Railing Walls are automatically set as No Locate on their General Tab , uncheck that and Auto dims will now Measure to them as well. https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-00092/troubleshooting-dimensions-not-locating-railings.html Mick
  16. They do , and in fact I can see in your pics that you are actually adjusting the 2D Pattern , not the 3D Texture , but I can also see in the same pic that you have the "keep Pattern and Texture sync'd" checkbox On which will automatically adjust the other one depending which tab you do the adjustment in. Pattern = 2D ( Vector Views) Texture = 3D views eg Standard or PBR I think you can use the horizontal adjustment in the Gutter Profile Tab to adjust how far off the Wall (fascia) it is.... Mick.
  17. If you are expecting it to all join up automatically it wont AFAIK , you have to pull the Walls Up in Elevation even after "ballooning" them up as well and have to use a small fascia at least on the Gables to conceal gaps as if you pull the walls too high it will poke through the roof at the Corners on the gable ends. I have played with Material thicknesses, Wall and Roof Surface Definitions etc and it is still not Perfect on the one end I have played with the walls on so far. SamplePlan2_MHD.plan
  18. Depends on the View etc you need , you can have both as explained above , just put full length and 6" sections on different Layers..... M.
  19. Yes........ Yes that's where I was going with the 6" Lengths , multicopied across building and then the CS Camera sent to a CAD Detail , which can be blocked and saved to the Library as well for future use.... M.
  20. see above .......is the Tiebeam a symbol or a 3D solid? or a ponywall? it's not a slice when moved back but the end you are looking at .......like in the 3D View. Try a 6 " length sitting in the same position with end seen in CS Camera, put them on a Unique Layer , so you can turn them off if View where you don't want to see them/the extra Lines etc. M.
  21. Huh? now I am confused..... is the Tiebeam a symbol or a 3D solid? or a ponywall? If you pull the end of your symbol back into the Camera , I think you will see it.... M.
  22. No he meant for you to close the plan in Chief before you attach it to a post or the Forum won't be able to upload it as Chief Locks the File when it is open. If the Plan File is over 14mb , you'll also need to Zip the file to upload it. M
  23. Symbols are not Solids but a group of "Faces" creating a Hollow box , so they don't usually show well in a Section View , you'd need to be looking at the end of the "symbol" not cutting through it . So perhaps a 6" section placed in front of the camera so the end is visible? M.
  24. True the Number is more for easy identification I guess, but several Cabinet Companies I deal with require their Delivery Contractors to deliver the Cabinets to the Room they Go in , ( so the Installer is ready to go when he arrives ) , so I have been using Floor/Room/Number etc recently, but maybe there is a better way to do it ? M.
  25. Are you saying the Number Column is not considered for sort now? ( ever?) maybe that is what I was noticing recently? M.
