If you delete the Toolbar Folder in your DATA folder , CA will rebuild it next time you start CA too , a good reason to keep a backup of your toolbar configs too if you don't use the OOB ones. M.

wasn't anything major as I said , for eg. your invisible wall was wrong side of the line and your full width was off by the thickness off the wall too I think, but it is all per you pic of your onsite Dims now , though I didn't put the skylight in this time. M.

Thanks David, my post is here on the Symbols Forum, along with some other Metals further down in the Post too which you can turn into Materials if needed. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/index.php?/topic/2563-stainless-steel-and-other-metals-add-yours-please/ *** because Stainless has a "grain" , it may look better to use the Vert (ical) vs Horiz (ontal) version of the material or to rotate it 90° depending on what you are applying it to. the Authentication server was likely down again as it was about 3 weeks ago , they reset the time out from 5 minutes to 90secs after last time after numerous complaints, which explains the "wait" I think. (CA needs to authenticated once every two weeks if you didn't know to stay active for anti -piracy measures)

where did you download it from? your Digital Locker at CA ? the file should just Run when you double click on it , however you want to be sure you trust the source of that file 100% before doing so , and have you CD Key ready. M.
-
Did you try installing it ? you may need to set it's compatibility mode to Windows 7 or even XP , and perhaps set it to run as Administrator as well but worth a try. the other option is to do a Dual boot on your new computer and install x2 on the other OS Your new computer will get Win10 anyday too of course

makes sense as an outdoor entertaining Area, from the name I thought it was a shelter for the MotorCoach. M.

Hi B. you are actually on ChiefTalk (green Forum) instead of the Home Designer HomeTalk Forum (Blue) which is located here : https://hometalk.chiefarchitect.com/ you can use the same User ID and password over there , but please fill in your Forum Profile signature so they know what HD Title you have as it will make a difference in your answer as only Pro has a Layout Sheet as you describe. see you over there...... well hopefully it is only a paperwork error and you have a cheap copy of x6 and a $50 transfer to figure out properly . I am sure CA would love to have another Client and be happy to let you buy the X7 upgrade which I think is $645 vs $465 for the original X6 SSA Chief Website is backup now ...upgrade is $645. http://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/upgrade.html

there is a new Timber Frame House in the CA Samples Gallery you could download to look at for ideas here http://www.chiefarchitect.com/products/samples.html and I thought I had seen a tutorial on Timber Frame trusses in the KnowledgeBase (KB) too did you look? If it's a Motorcoach (RV?) Pavilion are you sure that it is high enough > 7'6" is only 6" higher than a standard garage door.

I would Call too , as it sounds like the Former Owner may not have transferred it properly , which means you aren't really the Owner , and he could possibly claim he still owns it , so I'd sort it out for sure.... as you should of gotten a new "key" I think , otherwise he could still use CA when you aren't , though that would show up as you'd be asked to reactivate if he started it on another Computer. If his Full license was transferred I think it is basically a $50 admin fee , but it can get expensive if it was a 2nd license as Ozgur said as you also have to pay the difference in price between a full version ($2695) and the cost of the additional license which I think is/was $1695? plus the transfer fee. Nick Sonder has a new series out too actually just got an email from Sketchup about it, though I am firmly in the CA camp despite the Materials List not being as Useful as I had 1st hoped. http://blog.sketchup.com/sketchupdate/more-modeling-and-documentation-tips-sketchup-guru?mkt_tok=3RkMMJWWfF9wsRons6zOZKXonjHpfsX56eQlWKO%2Fgokz2EFye%2BLIHETpodcMTcJnPa%2BTFAwTG5toziV8R7bBKc1j1d8QWBXj

That would be nice and isn't it standard windows behaviour ? that or auto unzoom...

Don't have win10 yet , but make sure you have the latest win10 graphics Driver for your card. CA Server is down again this morning which is why it takes about 2 mins to get it going, the authentication has to time out 1st then it starts... you can only revert Win10 within 30 days of installing it , then you would need to do a full reinstall of previous OS. https://www.chiefarchitect.com is still down , X7 just took me about 2mins for it to Load not sure if that cos I Auth. earlier already but yes advise last time was to wait and let it time out , though they said they lowered it from 5 mins to 90secs didn't they? Have sent Dan Park a PM so he should get an email too to let him know. M.

I think the Server is down again , I had trouble getting my license off my Laptop about 1/2 an hr ago too... and can't get into Chief.com either ***Edit. I sent Dan park a message just incase they don't know... M

It's all in the Details you actually had it setup right but hadn't built the Roof or put in the approximate Pitch in the DBX (49°) it was still on 22° ??? couple of things: - make sure your dimensions are accurate ( I moved walls etc ) and the exterior side of walls even the invisible one in this case, are too the exterior of the building. This is easily seen when you select a wall by which side the selection handle in the middle of the wall (square) is on. - the 265mm thick wall in this case actually means your Roof Pitch is 45° , not 49° as it was with my standard thickness wall . ( this is actually info you should of got while OnSite , get a Level App for your Mobile if you don't have one they are good enough for this.) here is the fixed plan.Liz 3_MH.plan

Assuming you transferred the X6 licence properly I would say they will let you buy the X7 Upgrade which includes SSA free for the 1st yr , with SSA you would also get X8 free if it came out 30 Days? before your SSA expired. SSA isn't available for X6 as X7 is already out as SSA also gives you X7 as noted above. M.

Thx Yusuf , I hope the Client likes it too. M.

You don't say what software you are using and haven't filled in your Profile Signature either so People will know ( see mine below) but this is possible auto too, and is easier if you know the roof pitch but after a quick play with your measurements it looks like it is 14/12 or 49.3 °. You have to make a Complete Room but not a house , even if only doing a single Room remodel, like a bathroom , usually it is easier to just make a big Room and then place your Remodel in whichever corner you need exterior walls on or in the middle if you only need the one wall , ie the 58cm wall in your case at the low side. (you are using cm but I started in inch, so just stayed with it in the example below) Once you have the big room and have placed walls for your Bathroom , you can split the bathroom into two rooms with an invisible wall and make the lower room (see pic) 58cm and the upper room 233cm then set the lowest wall at 14/12 or 49.3° and the end walls (right /left)as Gable walls and build the Roof. Here is the result and the plan so you can check it out.....ask more questions if needed. M. DMedina1.plan

Your welcome Mickey... this is the only RayTrace I have them in at the moment , I made the back wall of the shower invisible to get a view of the bathroom but it should give you an idea. M.
