Just make sure that the Online "Service" you use is not the only copy you have of anything, always keep local copies of everything too, as many "Free" Cloud Services do not have Versioning in the Free Unpaid Plans , so if something gets corrupted or disappears into the Ether , it is gone.... M.

Yes , and maybe this is the Issue? press it once and it "de-selects", press it more and you start stepping back through the previous command list (upto 100 commands according to the Manual) , so if a Text Box was the Previous Command too it would seem like it hadn't changed. The SpaceBar doesn't step back AFAIK , it just puts you back in Selection Mode ( same as the icon), I usually Select with the Mouse though and use the spacebar to "release" the Selection if needed, as I don't keyboard much at all, due to a hand injury and having no feeling in most of my lefthand, so it's just easier to tap the SpaceBar than play keyboard gymnastics like some do, looking at different Hotkey files.
-
I use the SpaceBar as well for "de-selecting" ......but ESC should work too , seems to here with a quick test. Only other thing I can think of is , with the refresh / reset of Chief did you perhaps lose your HotKey settings ? I don't use them a lot as I have never been a big "keyboarder" , so this may not be your issue.... If the Keyboard is programmable you could try assigning ESC to another key to make sure the ESC isn't defective perhaps....( or another keyboard) You could try this with the OnScreen Keyboard if Win7 has it? ( Win10 does), but only the Full Onscreen keyboard has ESC though.

Dashboard had the same issue two weekends ago but didn't report back what the the outcome was....

I was assuming Pilot Error of course .....

It sounds like the Primary Format has been changed from " to '-" ( inch to Ft-inch or Ft) in the NKBA Dimension default ( same tab as where the accuracy is set to 1/16th)

You can't really duplicate it in true 3D as the Texture is Flat .......but a normal map helps.... ( unless you get very elaborate with true 3D solids etc) Playing with CA's White Lapsiding Texture ( Cut and Pasted in Paint ) and making a Normal Map Online , this is what I came up with fairly quickly...... I used the White texture , same as CA does and then used the blend Option to make it grey here ( you can use any colour this way then.) Keep the bumpmap scale low ( 0.001-0.003) if you want smooth siding , higher if you want the Wood texture to show) MHD_LapSiding_1-6.calibz LapSiding_1-6.zip

Ok ,cool ...a dual boot would allow you to have Vista and Windows 10 on the Computer and then only run Vista when you wanted to run X5 , but if the VideoCard isn't working properly in Win10 , there is no point really, might work in Win7 though? Lots of info online for doing either.....https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/5166-dual-boot-installation-windows-7-vista.html 7forums,8Forums and 10Forums are goods places for all things Windows , including good tutorials. If you are happy with Vista , just Clone the Vista HDD to the SSD and you should be good to go....Macrium Reflect Free works great for doing this kind of thing and making Images for backup purposes. You can them put th eolfd HDD in a USB 3 Case and use it for the backups too. M.

Do your forum signature and Fill in your system hardware , then make a post about the video Issue and I am sure Others will help if they can.... *** to fill in your Signature .... go up to the top RH Corner above ^^^^ and click on your UserName > Account Settings> Signature.... and enable Signature (will Turn Green) then add your Hardware Details and Chief Software Version, as different Versions require different Answers. I am not surprise Nvidia says the last Driver was from 2009 for the 7 Series Cards.....but there seems to be support of Win7 32bit and Win7 64bit... and Vista. https://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/8972

I thought that snip was from the Video he mentioned?

Thanks , well I guess I am out of Ideas then , I thought this was why they suggested a Clean Install each version , so you didn't miss any of the new Icons or Tools. M.
-
You are right, it would need the Old Toolbars ie if the Toolbars were migrated when the newer version is install, rather than a Clean install done, then I didn't think we'd see the new Icons perhaps.
-
I think that is the Original one Joe , the Chromium one is version 74.xxxx , if it doesn't remind you of Chrome then it's the old version that came with Win10 Originally.
-
If you used an old plan as a template it may not be available eg from X9 , as that Icon we got new in X10 I think.... M.
-
I beleive Joe is referring to the new Chromium Based Edge, I know I am.....currently available as a Developer (weekly build) or Canary Version (Daily build) even if you are on th eWindows Insider Track. https://www.microsoftedgeinsider.com/en-us/download/ https://www.tenforums.com/windows-10-news/130424-microsoft-edge-insider-preview-builds-now-ready-you-try.html

the change Defaults Button? ( or Save As Default Button) ... should be on the Edit Toolbar if it applies to the Object Selected. M.
-
I am just trying the new Edge too and it it much like Chrome or FF. I added an AD Blocker though.... (ABP) Thanks for the Page link BT .... in Edge it is there but no link in Edge Options>System , but put...... edge://settings/content/notifications in the address bar and it is there, and you can add Websites that way too , to the ADD or Block lists.

There are a few Plants when I filter for Interiors X9..... not all are 3D though..... https://www.chiefarchitect.com/3d-library/index.php?r=site/detail/787 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/3d-library/index.php?r=site/detail/786 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/3d-library/index.php?r=site/detail/788 https://www.chiefarchitect.com/3d-library/index.php?r=site/detail/975 Filtered library.....

Usually a website will ask and you can choose NEVER ( or Block) if desired, but you may get this if you clicked "Not Now" previously , until you set Never then it should stop bothering you. M.
-
No, actually to the slow downs , they were getting worse and worse , then I noticed it was X10 as well as X11 , so I looked elsewhere for the issue. I had read some ( not Chief Users) where having issues last month after installing certain KBs , so in the end I tried uninstalling last month's Cumulative Update too.
-
Perhaps use one plan for CDs , and use a Save As Version for Client presentations with all the plants and other stuff needed , so you don't need to "work" in it everyday. many SU models are done by Students and tend to be very high polygon count , so keep an eye on that too and anything with alot of curves will slow Chief down too, an example of that was a Multi Family someone posted on the Forum with a similar issue , the solution was to swap out the 30+ round vanity sinks for rectangular ones. I was having issues in X10 and X11 due to certain Windows 10 Updates , I un-installed them and did a repair install of Win10 with the latest .iso from Microsoft and all has been good the last two weeks...
