due to the age of your current system I would consider a Prebuilt Desktop Computer with a 3000 Series Nvidia Graphics card ( most cost effective way to get a 3000 series RTX card currently) If that isn't in the budget then a cheap 9/10 or 16 series Nvidia card maybe ok, to get you 3D views at least but no PBR-RT or Clay cameras. But do make sure it is using the latest Intel Drivers incase they do support X13? M.

Turn the soffit off, ( boxed eave) it wont match the ceiling due to the slope on the roof plane.... see how it shows on edge at one end? Is the Room ( deck) Ceiling high as well? ie not at top of columns etc. that maybe the bottom of the roof plane I am seeing though?

You can make the Railing any Railing type you want, it doesn't need to be solid as in the example by CA, it can even be a pony wall and it doesn't need to be around the Perimeter of the building either. ( similar to what Eric is showing I think they can be pulled in) Chief doesn't do Sloped Floors , but that can be fixed in a Section View >CAD Detail ..... or for the more adventurous put a manual roof plane inside the "parapet walls" . Or post the plan , so those with time can have a "play" M.

X13 PBR looks more like Vector View now ......did you adjust the sun intensity ? as I noticed the nice Mountain scene is washed out in X13 too. Mick

No taller building in the drawing? Scroll out and click one of the two dimension lines and look for the diamond on the end of the extension line.....grab it and pull it back to the ridge seen in the pic...use CTRL key as you pull it back / down if needed. There will be one diamond for each dimension line.....

I usually Rotate the Layout Box , but sometimes even that is not enough if the local jurisdiction requires 1/4" scale as many do.......then ARCH_E1 is needed

I didn't understand by Overbuilt you meant a California Frame Over , as it is called in some areas, Chief has never Over-Framed Auto AFAIK ...... assuming I understand the situation ....... The Porch Wall should have the Upper Pitch enabled ( input main house pitch) and the Baseline distance set to the width of the Porch so the pitch change happens over the Exterior Wall This is useful only with Auto Roofs I think...... Mick.

In Older Versions of Chief you couldn't Copy Cameras AFAIR, so maybe that is the issue? M.

SSA comes with the license the 1st year so you will both get X13 but if you both don't get SSA in the future and thus do not have the same version you will not be able to exchange plans from higher to lower versions ( no backwards compatibility) To separate the Licenses you have to pay the going price difference at the time AFAIK , so about $900 today?

Yes , because it was a System Builder, local to me, they agreed to let me reuse my old case, Power supply and CPU Fan to save some money. At the time I did not think about the 32GB RAM in the old machine which I could of reused too as it was DDR4 already. But then it doesn't hurt to have a second PC in the house for others to use either, or as a backup, I would of looked at Mark's build from AXA if I could of. ( they don't ship here) , I agree with his other comments on PCIe4 etc , my Z590 board was the same price as the Z490 though but I did not go High End (mid) like Mark, some boards need an 11th gen Chip to enable the extra .m2 slot(s) though , but most have 2 or 3 .m2 slot these days , one for OS and 1 for a Data Drive.
