  1. Nailed it! Thanks John and nice to see you on CT again. Look forward to your valuable input.
  2. 1:200 inches is going to be difficult to have much finite control on the lines. OOB is 1:100mm and I usually stay fairly close to the standard oob line settings but change it to 1:150mm so it is a little finer control. Then I adjust a few line settings. Doing a full set of construction documents while doing it will really help you to dial them in. Then use the save as a template tool to save a copy for a new template.
  3. That Cad detail is not in sync with the rest of your plan most likely. By chance is the rest of the plan 1:200 MM and not in? OOB is 1:100. I personally use 1:150 for slightly better control but mm not inches.
  4. Is it able to be added to your user library as a molding profile? If not are you sure it is a "Closed" polyline??? Are you able to set those molding profiles you already have to the lintel? If not then you should reach out to Technical support or post a plan here. The reason I say that is because:
  5. As I said in your other post that you deleted you don’t need a solid you need to draw the profile with a closed polyline and save to your library as a molding profile. Then set your window lintel to that profile.
  6. Didn’t download your plan because if you can select it that means the layer is on. Sounds like you changed your line style to the white color or an “invisible line” style. Open the item and look at the line style panel of the dbx.
  7. Many ways to accomplish that. A couple: 1.) Use the polyline driveway tool break the edge and shape it using the make radius edit tools, etc. 2.) Use a combination of straight driveway and spline driveway tools. 3.) use the spline driveway tool and start and end with a straight perpendicular section to the road/driveway.
  8. Adjust your stair count, move the stairs making your landing longer, or change the railing to extend that room to the stairs (not structurally typical).
  9. Sounds like a bug. I just tested it and it will go to the last file you opened from, regardless if you use the open from recent or open from plan. It also seems to be tied to the folder type of the last plan file or the last layout file you opened from and their corresponding folder. Please report this to chief so this can be fixed. If this doesn't get reported they won't know about this issue. You can also send a link to this forum thread when reporting it. @deaconjj And while you are at it maybe you could fill out your signature to help everyone understand what you are using.
  10. That is an imported or customized symbol. Use the Open symbol in your user library option (right click) and make sure it is set to 0 for your Z and that it is set as an appliance and set to insert into countertop.
  11. Marquis select them all and set to not include in schedule. Or set them to show as a custom field, like existing windows.
  12. Assuming the layer they are on is still set to show in the 3d view you are using correct?
  13. I plan on making a suggestion depending on if I am missing anything. I very seldomly use 2 dimension formats but am doing so on a clients project that wants to see inches below '-" in both formats. When a dimension is under 1ft it will show inches above and below. Unless I am missing something there is no way to suppress one of these dimensions...? I tried doing it with suppressing the dimension and adding it into a leading or trailing text which does work (although it does not follow the stacked fraction settings), this requires manual input and is not worth the effort and is opening up opportunity to error. Am I missing something?
  14. That is one of the great things about Chief. The amazing user base. This forum is an amazing source of information. We all can help keep it that way with trying to use as precise terminology as possible, marking the correct answer to your issue, giving a Like for helpful contributions, an upvote if the answer is correct and helpful. Quoting or tagging the person you have a question for. And when posting questions giving all the information you can. Screen grabs (not photos of your screen from a cell phone), Clear descriptions and/or photos of what you want and where you are at. And in many cases the ".plan" file (after closing out of chief as it locks it while open) for most difficult plans. All of this assists in keeping this forum an amazing source for all of us. The more you help the more likely the power users and experienced users will help you.
  15. https://chieftalk.chiefarchitect.com/search/?q=side windows&updated_after=any&sortby=relevancy&search_and_or=and These forums are searchable and quite good.
  16. Looks like a redesign of the footprint to get anything close to what you are trying to accomplish.
  17. 1.) Do it in a 3d view 2.) use the show roof plane on floor below or floor above tools to get them showing on the same floor and then do it in plan view.
  18. Probably best to put all the criteria you want to use when describing the issue. The suggestions above will help you with the roof. Usually you would use the floor for the shed but if you don’t want to see concrete seams at the shed like you would by placing a separate slab outside the shed and setting the height to be the same then you can make the shed room open to below and manually place your slab under it all.
  19. You do need to have the room have a floor (as you said it has a concrete floor.) The other items should not be necessary. So you want a Shed roof not a gable roof? (Single fall from one higher side to one lower side?) Proper terminology is key in Chief Architect. Did you do what I described above? If so post a picture and one of us can help you. My wording above was very specific on what you need to do.
  20. Like this? Hints: 1.) Look at the wall definition and the options of where the platform builds to. 2.) Auto roofs should center the Gable over the building. No idea what a "roob peek" is... 3.) You don't need to have anything in the Interior layer of the wall it can be empty. You do need to frame the wall to see the studs. And if you changed the wall definition from another existing wall definition that had interior sometimes you will need to remove the phantom layer that will show at first using the remove surfaces temporarily tool. Once you do it once it will stay off in that case.
  21. didn't download your plan but your wall definition is not lined up from wall to wall is 99% of the time what causes this. My guess is that one is a brick wall and the other got painted brick on it.
  22. Please report it and include that information. You can also send a link to this thread.
