Why do you need the stairs to the right anyway? Seems like the bridge to nowhere. Have a great week, Ken

Fun to learn, Just finishing up a plan with about the same stair situation. In looking at your section view one thing stands out. Headroom appears to be a big problem here. If it would not effect anything else I think you should shorten up the landing on floor one by as much as possible, maybe 24" + or _.This will allow you to move the stair section forward and cut down on the amount the upper end of the stair section intrudes into your hallway ceiling. This should give you the required headroom for code. Have a great week, Ken One more thought. I know it is nice to leave as much room as possible in the entry but sometimes other things dictate the situation. I would move the stairs to where they were as close to the door to the room to the right without crowding the door trim. The stringers should bump into and sit on the landing.

Anytime you have to make an object it is a good idea to add it to your library. If you need it once you will probably need it again. Have a great week,Ken

A pocket door with a wall intersecting it frame is a pita to frame but it can be done. Have had to do this more than once in homes I have framed. It is things like this that separate the craftsman from the average carpenter. As for showing it in chief it will have to be frame manually and I can't think it is worth the time it would take to do it. Have a great week,Ken

Gene,Here when we do a daylight basement we step the footer back on the sides to a point that will get them below frost line, 30" in our county and pour a footer then 12" block to slab grade. Or in some cases just pour solid concrete from footer to grade and form for slab. In chief either pony wall or block foundation wall lowered to desired elevation for slab. Hope this is a little clearer than mud. Not as bad as it sounds. Have a great Memorial Day weekend and thanks to all veterans out there,Ken

you need a program with a pdf printer, Chief has one or you can download one free of the internet. Set it up as if it were an actual printer and print to this printer and save to your desktop and then e-mail to your friend. Hope this is clear and helps. Have a great week,Ken

Canuck, Just delete one of each file. Won't have any effect on the other one. I have had this happen Just takes a while to go through and delete the extra one. Have a great week,Ken

Problem solved. Had to do the molding polyline thing. Just had to try to get the auto roof returns to work. It is my contention that when the program toughs a specific feature it should work as advertised. Kelly thanks for your reply. Have a great week,Ken

I am ready to pull my hair out over these returns. Some will generate and some here and there. Have searched the training videos and seems there is not one on this subject. Does anyone know of one or have a guess as to why these will not generate.
