  1. Eliminate the attic as the floor you are going to. Create a floor that is your attic and lower the roof accordingly.
  2. Absolutely. My wife considers herself the concierge of Carmel. If you can schedule to be here on a Monday night there is a restaurant that only serves on Monday night. It is deep out in Carmel Valley called the Cachagua General Store. It has the decor of a back woods gas station with mismatched chairs and cowboy paraphernalia. Absolutely the best meal I have had in California. Lots of great spots all around.
  3. In Carmel. Some people call this Northern California but I think of it as central.
  4. Where are you in Northern California? Come over and I will show you. We have a nice beach.
  5. No. that would be filled completely in white (or magenta...) but it allows you to specify the transparency.
  6. The methodology is this: 1. Send to layout at required scale 2. Resize the layout box to the size you want to see printed. If you want to change the scale of what you sent to layout you can do that in layout.
  7. See attached. White fill faded as a way to fade out the portion of the elevation that is not orthogonal to the camera.
  8. Perry, I think that is the trick. I just needed that roof plane to be what it should be. Thanks, Alan
  9. I have been monkeying with this for months. I just tried another round of "what if I do this?" but nothing is working. I can get the roof plane and sheathing to correct itself and as soon as I do a few other commands it pops back to the state in the image. It may just be a bug based on the window box and the attic wall configuration. Any ideas? F7 Planning App Rev 1a.zip
  10. Scot, you would have loved the Soviet Union. Live comrade or dead comrade, who needs some many choices? I just want the full line of Restoration Hardware lighting, and this ashtray....

  12. Greg, you need to change your screen name to "The Machine". Thanks for all the goodies.
  13. Sal, the attachment system is 2 steps. "Browse" and upload, then hit "attach this file".
  14. I gleaned this from the q & a in Fine Homebuilding: http://woodbin.com/calcs/sagulator.htm
  15. I generally use a polyline with a dashed line and choose a very light gray color with a line weight around 100.
  16. I just checked my system text size and it was set to small. I just did a comparison with bringing it to medium and I think I like that better. Since I have a 30" primary monitor and a 27" secondary I no longer mind losing a little screen real estate to larger text. In the attached image the smaller text is the smaller text and the larger text is a little bigger (medium on Windows 7). comparing text sizes.pdf
  17. Draw invisible walls (room divider walls) and then build your roof on top of that. For that matter, build real walls and delete them after you build the roof and place some poly solids for posts where you want them. Or...
  18. You might be seeing the casing layer turned on? You might be seeing monkeys? Hard to tell without an image.
  19. Almost never crashed in x6. Some random crashes in x7 beta. x7 full is crashing 2-3 times a day (4-8 hours of drafting). The library is causing freezing. Camera views the other problems. Edit, changed my auto save to 2 mins due to the issues.
  20. If you had attached drawings it did not come with the post. The attachment process is 2 steps (buttons).
  21. Find it and copy / paste. See my path:
  22. None of the problems of the past versions. In the past I had issues with text boxes but with x6-x7 everything was smooth.
