Take an elevation view. Draw polyline solid with a slope matching the stairs and move into position. Do another for the wall cap with the desired thickness, say 1" and change material as needed. There may be another method but it eludes me at the moment.

"I'm not saying that Chief should include the Ceiling Drywall, but if you add the Ceiling Drywall to the Ceiling Structure and eliminate it from the Ceiling Finish it won't be reported in the Room Material List." Just re-read this. OK, I see your point BUT. I think Chief should clarify this Seems like a set up for conflict to me.

"I have it set up that way in my Defaults so a Room Materials List doesn't include any drywall at all. So, is that the intended set up from Chief? I do not have the OOB profile plan so don't know if it is or not. I'm not trying to say what is right or wrong but to understand the proper set up. Maybe many of us have made a mistake and unknowingly set it up wrong.

Joe - it's more the inconsistency I am talking about. What is the correct procedure for setting up to get the proper output? Personally, I really don't care because I always do a manual take off when needed but since I chimed in on this I would like to know the correct way to set things up based on Chief's process for generating room material lists.

Joe - by that logic then no DW should be reported. As it is now some is and some isn't.

I know Kjell says it was all drawn in Chief but the mountains and terrain items look just like Lumion. I guess we will have to wait for his response.

OK, here is what I am getting. I have tried going into defaults and changing the material to chief's wall board, 4x8, 1/2" as I just had drywall selected. However nothing changed. I get WB2 in sf but it is wrong. THe 8 sheets listed is for the ceiling.
-
hmmmmm, looks like that should be sent in. I get the same thing.

Hey Kjell, Nice job. Looks like the flythrough is Lumion? Haven't used it for over a year (free version) but my small scale walkthroughs were very smooth. Is the jerkiness due to the size? IAE, that is quite a scene with the mountains, horses, wind turbine etc. Thanks for sharing!

what happens if you put a roof on it?

Mark - OK, got it. IT gets difficult when the names of the file and folder don't match. For me at least. ;o(
-
Mark - cannot find it in my user library. Happens on some symbols. Should be listed alphabetically under double right?

In Scott's absence I will say POST THE PLAN!

Laura - you should get decent results in about 10 passes or less. IS your system old? What kind of video card do you have? I am no expert on equipment but it sometimes is at the root of the problem. It is a good idea to make your equipment part of your signature and post a picture of what you are getting. MAybe even post the plan for others to show what they can get in what time frame.

Mark - I know your client did not like the line but to me it indicated that there was a rediused edge which you do not see in Joe's solution or the above picture. It just looks like a slab. But, to each his own I guess.

Does that include an mp3 by Kenny Rogers?

Thanks Perry. Very straight forward!

Nice!

Joe - yes, you still get the line.
