  1. I keep X8 for opening of the old file type pl1 etc ( prior to .plan type). I open it in x8 save as then open in latest x13. Otherwise remove all of them, depends on what you need. Just remember the old file types wont open in anything newer than X8.
  2. I Agree it should not be on option. We have had this discussion with CA a few years ago and they almost completely got rid of it.
  3. cm is a non ISO measurement so should never be used. use mm or metres.
  4. I can only talk in regards Premier version, (the professional version). Not exactly sure which versions you are deciding between as there is a pro version in the lower speced Home designer series. Not sure about the limitations and whats included with these versions. With Premier you have free access to the downloadable libraries if your SSA is current. The materials list is only as accurate as the model allows it, ie as you get more proficent and include everything it gets more accurate.
  5. Sorry not seeing any lag, however a png of upper floor file did not load. this may be causing your slowness?. My machine is fairly old and due for replacement once we can get chips at a reasonable price.
  6. That has happened for a couple of versions at least but in X13 I currently cannot trust it with the project I am working on, it may be to do with the fact that there are 5 separate houses each drawn in their own locations on separate files so they can come together as 1. I have just finally bit the bullet and made new templates for x13 and going through the process of cutting and pasting plans then relinking to layout, hopefully this may solve it.
  7. Where are you changing the height? In room settings? or defaults?
  8. I have been having problems with PDF's being rotated some of the time, this is a change from X12 but still trying to find a consistent reason before sending to tech. The main problem is it is not totally consistent so get confused.
  9. This is 5 seperate dwellings on the 1 lot, still at conceptual stage. I have a seperate file for each for working on each in the correct location to suite the site so I can copy-paste-hold pos between the files. Once I get fully developed I probably wont be able to manipulate the large file, but all con docs will be produced from the seperate files individually.
  10. I find it depends on the plan file size, and complexity of the schedule, If it is a basic schedule say walls I usually place it in the plan, but if it needs to chopped up to fit on the sheet I use cad detail as Mark suggested. Both ways work. It is really up to the way you work.
  11. I changed that same setting a couple of days ago also and it seems to be an improvement, might actually try the 125 ans see what happens. I believe that it is logitech causing the problem on my system.
  12. Never had much luck with intergated graphics. Minimum requirements are that a minimum, if you happen to get several items that are right at the bottom of their allowable tolerances overall it would not meet the minimums for the whole system.
  13. No crashes here so far, just a few mouse issues. But not using a AMD cpu. Maybe need to go back to an older driver??
  14. OK lets see if the others are also using a logitech. I'm using a G502
  15. There is also another active post on this subject.
  16. Do you use a logitech mouse with logitech g hub? I am also having problems with the mouse (a brand new 1) since loading x13. But also in windows explorer also.
  17. I don't use that wall framing material. so it must be related to the material definition I guess. I use a plain material and then at the bottom of the wall framing panel I set the framing spacings.
  18. In metric plan I get the correct spacings. Have you set the spacings in both framing defaults and wall settings dbx?.
  19. You must have another roof plane somewhere??
  20. I was trying to infer that with the one you already have use transform/replicate and scale it back to 1 to 1 scale.
  21. Should draw to 1: 1 scale. to fix scale what you have so it is back to 1 to 1 then dimensions all work. scale when sending to lauyout
  22. Once you have opened and saved a file in a later version you cannot open that file in previous versions, only the backup that is created somewhere.
  23. Investigate window levels as I remember you can change which levels show with different window levels
  24. Just select any text and maually change its size, font, colour or whatever
