  1. I posted a stretchable downspout in the old forum not so long ago. Have a look there. Or use a molding polyline.
  2. Joe, Where do I find that setting? I think mine works without that setting - because I can't find it! I have a Use Custom Text Style - but that applies to normal text, not Rich Text.
  3. I can select multiple Rich Text boxes with different size text and change them all to another text size. I can also change most of the other options like font. etc.
  4. d dot, If you use a wall definition that has thicker non-main layers, the extra lines will be longer. In your example the lines are only as long as the non main layer wall thickness. Try it with a brick veneer wall and the errant lines will extend the brick thickness. As I said earlier, they are the caps for the openings in the non main layer of the walls.
  5. I have used Perry's method on layout page zero using outline fonts - ie, not solid fonts.
  6. I try and make it a habit to ask for a plan to be posted only once per thread. If there is no plan, I'm outa there. I use this technique to weed out the tire kicker clients as well. I try and get then to do something that takes a little effort before I automatically agree to go out and meet them at a site visit. Even if it's something as simple as emailing a survey plan, or a brief...anything to get them to do something. It's just too easy for a prospective client to ring up and agree to a site meeting at their convenience - usually they want it on a weekend - it makes it too easy for them. That's why I don't do weekend meetings. If it's important to them, they will come early for work or go in late - otherwise, I'm not interested.
  7. Joe, There is a toolbar button which I think is on the OOB vertical toolbar. Or in the menu at View...Lineweights. Or a shortcut if you have assigned one. Or Preferences...Appearance...Line Weights. You must have toggled it somewhere.
  8. Bryce, I believe they are the caps (extents of the door opening) for the hidden wall layers. Looks like one for Suggestions or a bug report.
  9. That all looks normal. What materials are you trying to assign?
  10. Door Schedule Specification dbx. Label tab. Callout size. Check Size.
  11. Why don't you post the plan. Not a .pdf - the plan file.
  12. For those of you that are having problems with Chief remembering the size and location of the Library and Project Browsers between sessions: Mine usually opens in the top left hand corner of the screen at a very small size. This workaround may help until Chief fixes the problem. Open your template plan. Open the Library and Project Browsers. Size them and place then as you want. Leave them open and save the template plan. When you open them in the next Chief session they should open to the same position and size as you saved them. Seems to work so far for me.
  13. Oh, and I live in Australia - USA is not the world! When is Chief going to be compliant with our codes - we have federal, state and local.
  14. You should be able to do it using the Curve/Flair Stair tool. Have a play with all the grips and see what happens. I did this one just using the Curve/Flair Stair tool.
  15. Guys, The OP is using Chiefs new PDF printer, so no other PDF printer driver.
  16. Yes, I also get the same thing. Same for the Project Browser. It seems to be missed in each update. How about it Chief? PS. While we are on the subject. I have a similar problem with my Edit toolbar. I usually have it floating, but it has a mind of it's own by moving all over the place - I guess it really is "floating"!!.
  17. Christina, I assume it is Chief trying to wrap the external wall layer around the end of the Railing wall. The lines don't appear: 1. With a single layer wall 2. With a non railing wall. ie, use a normal wall and pull its height down from the top. or, probably the easiest: 3. Draw a very short Room Divider Wall at 90deg to the joint between the rail and the wall.
  18. Those types of devices have been around for years and in my onion just add another layer of complexity to something that Chief ready provides. A bit like using a graphics tablet - why would you bother? I already have a keyboard that I can customise with shortcuts!! I reckon that I would be just as fast and it would be easier (and cheaper) using Chiefs new 2 letter sequential shortcuts than an additional programmable keyboard.
  19. Maurice, Works for me. Are you seeing color on your layout page? Are you seeing color in the page preview in the Print Layout dbx?
  20. Perry, When can I expect delivery of tonite's dinner? Does that come with fries?
  21. Almost - it's not that hard with logical 2 letter sequential shortcuts. You can certainly do it with shortcuts and menus. Have a look at some of d dot Scot's videos - he is the master of shortcuts - although I would like to make his short cuts more logical!
  22. Alan, I would encourage you to explore the new sequential shortcuts. How do ever use a simultaneous shortcut like Shift+Alt+D in an efficient manner! Can you even do it with one hand efficiently?
  23. Bill, A good way to get familiar with the shortcuts is to look at the tooltips as your cursor runs over a toolbar button or menu item - the tool tips give a description of the tool and the shortcut. Or better yet make the shortcuts so logical that you really don't have to remember them (as in my previous post). It's really not that hard to run things from shortcuts and turn off the display of the toolbars altogether.
  24. Rich, I think the default shortcut for Camera Spin is Ctrl+Alt+S. ( you need 3 hands and a Twister mat do execute shortcuts like that) I use the simpler SX. X6 makes it a lot easier to use shortcuts because they can now be sequential key presses (1 to 4, 2 is ideal) unlike the previous simultaneous key presses which were really a pain to use (they are still available). This now means that shortcuts can be a lot more logical - which in turn means that you don't have to put as much effort into remembering them - take a best guess and you are probably right. Like: ZA: Zoom All ZI: Zoom In AD: Active defaults CS: Capture Screen CC: Current Cad Layer LD: Layer Defaults RL: Reverse Layers etc. etc. Remember that these are 2 letter SEQUENTIAL key presses - not simultaneous. I use a few 3 letter shortcuts along with a few of the default simultaneous shortcuts because I usually don't use then anyway and I haven't got around to changing them yet.. Anyone who grew up with Generic Cad will be familiar with this feature and will know how easy it is to use. I have attached my hotkeys list which is still a work in progress. You can import a hotkey list. I am happy to share mine if anyone is interested.
