How the heck do you get a sink to cut counter
Renerabbitt replied to Renerabbitt's topic in General Q & A
You are correct, only thing that is difficult to understand from a new user perspective is that you cannot add a countertop by using the Edit CAD Block Tool -

How the heck do you get a sink to cut counter
Renerabbitt replied to Renerabbitt's topic in General Q & A
Can you explain how you would achieve that? There is no Convert polyline Tool in the Edit Toolbar I can't paste a Custom Countertop into the CAD block All of the Polylines in the CAD block are just polylines I do see that modifying this can change the size but I cant get a custom cut to work with fileted edges Thank you for your help -
This is a sink built into chief and it cuts a perfect hole. No matter what I try, I can NOT put together a sink combo faucet that will properly cut the countertop. What is the trick? How must the sink be prepared in a way that the counter doesnt cut away for the faucet as well. Symbol offsetting doesn't help There is no cut hole in counter edit on a symbol level. Whats the trick?

Most of these buttons are on my thumb, is that still problematic?

Adding to this as I've done extensive shortcut mods over the years. You can get some really trick setups if you set your hot keys up to take advantage of modifiers such as ctrl, shift, or ctrl+shift on a mouse that properly executes rollover/jamming Keep in mind there are a few key combinations that cause problem with this methodology. Here are my current keybinds:

$$ Kitchen Quick Tools- Save an hour on every job
Renerabbitt replied to Renerabbitt's topic in Symbols and Content
Hey Eric, you simply beat me to it, haha. I sometimes post just so I can get a link so that I can cross-post. If you or anyone else had navigated to my shop yesterday, they would've seen a detailed description, it has been up for several months now, I just hadn't posted here yet. You also have to agree to some lengthy contracts and such, typical shop setup. I added the shop listing verbiage to the original post for clarity as well as a link to the listing. The suite of tools seems simple enough and I've had a few live streams explaining how people could make it themselves but I have spent several hundred hours developing this system into what it is today. It would be easy enough to recreate and I have some videos on my YouTube that could point people in the right direction. My guess, since we have the blueprint, is that a very proficient user of Chief Architect and Photoshop could recreate the system with the architectural blocks and style pallets in about 10 hours or so, and probably another 20 hours to recreate my custom symbols. Happy to have anyone support me here, it has been a ton of work running tech support on this stuff and thrilled that people are getting get use out of everything. Thank you all so much for the support and for the comments. -

I thought I had opened every chief file with an editor but alas, great trick!!! This will make it easy for me to transfer toolbars to people!! Whats even better, you can duplicate a custom library icon with this method as well as keeping an ordered and organize system. Took me 3 hours by I overhauled all of my icons
-
You cannot. You can only copy an entire configuration. There is no way to transfer a toolbar to another configuration
-
Larry, you have to use the quote system or the at symbol or Ryan won’t know that you responded. Ryan is showing you that he modified the “Left” face configuration of his cabinet symbol and adjusted the left reveal of that face as shown in his screenshot

Purge Unused CAD blocks. Import defaults from a chief template plan and save and then check again. That will narrow it down. It can be a default font in a CAD detail or it can be an active default or it can be in a CAD block or in a symbol etc.

Post a plan please @Kbird1

Ah okay, I drop a lot more content in my group there, I try to post it here as well but is not always setup for it

Just for due diligence, try the one in your program files folder and see if you run into the same problems

Just my insurance policy, as I had inadvertently changed my default residential plan template
-
Why?...and don't we only have to do this once and create a style pallet tool from it?
-
Just to be super super clear...are you using "Default Templates" from your Data folder or are you using "default Templates" from your install directory (Program Files in PC)?
-
I use photoshop I have a square brush and 3 of chiefs default colors saved. I always start with one of chiefs button icons located in the resource folder within the install directory. I usually draw them using symmetry.
