  1. Yes, I know the arguments here, its been a conscious effort, and good to note for those curious so thank you. I will continue to work in layout though and hope that this gets fixed, I have my own reasons for wanting to work in layout, it suits me on a number of levels.
  2. I've recently transitioned into doing most of my annotations in layout. I know there are very few people in these forums that do this, it is a preference of mine for my workflow and I find myself pumping out CD's a lot faster with my new methods. That being said their exists a HUGE frustration of mine. When I add an image or PDF to a layout sheet and then drag it around or resize it, for some reason CAD arrows on another sheet bind to the image or PDF and drag as well, screwing up sometimes HOURS of work across multiple different pages. My solution is to CAD block my annotations, but I still forget as this is counter intuitive. Please let me know if their is a fix for this! The text should bind to what it was intended only on the page it was intended to!!
  3. Called up text support for this, someone I collaborate with has a different screen monitor and whenever he opens my plans and layouts the text gets screwed up, word wrapping occurs, text goes off of the page..very frustrating. Any bright ideas here would help. Tried cad blocking, tried un-checking auto width, no matter what the problem occurs.
  4. Designed this using some modified Ikea dressers and hair pin legs.. thought I'd share. Will stretch appropriately and is offset from the wall per a typical dresser. download here: RABBITTS BLORANGE DRESSER.calibz
  5. Ha! Adding to this community always ends up benefiting me, progressing forward together!
  6. Enjoy! click to download: West Elm Terrace Coffee Table.calibz
  7. You can select your individual Roof planes and rebuild with new rafter specs within their respective dbx. instead of a auto rebuild all. If that doesn't work just post your .plan file and we will take a look
  8. hey kbird, will you upload your version for everyone?
  9. Enjoy! MILGARD STYLELINE STRETCHABLE SLIDER.calibz
  10. I cant figure out why it looks wrong in one plan, seems to work in others, thank you..ill upload a polished symbol in symbols and content now
  11. i've tried, cant get the 2d to display, and the offset being built into the geometry makes the pbr pickup that sun glitch
  12. The company I work for uses Milgard Style Line windows, so I built a stretchable slider window as close to spec as I could. Problem is that the offset of the symbol is wrong, so it shows up incorrect in plan view as well as picking up exterior sun in PBR. Seems that the entry point of the symbol is offset the opposite way from what I want. See pics. I included the window symbol as well as a symbol of the window as a fixture MILGARD WINDOW AS FIXTURE.calibz MILGARD WINDOW.calibz
  13. he should, I was looking for his paypal link last night
  14. RodCole pointed out some of the key questions, decide your budget, decide what needs to be illustrated and the level of detail required. Broad range of prices for renderings. Here are a few of mine:
  15. very cool Joe!! I can't remember, can you have more than one cab schedule in a plan?
  16. I have no problem inputting, I'm typically using the seismic, so adjustment factors are very different from wind speed tables. I figured a bit of work would be needed for the end user
  17. good to stay busy! I will likely ping you one of these days, I need to learn more about macros!
  18. I use forte, both contra costa county and alameda county have approved plans without the engineers stamp. I work with mkennedy2000 who has helped me get plan-sets through without an engineer stamp on many occasions. an example set prepped for red-line(missing my forte calcs and has some graphical errors in cross section): 218-09-24 BARNETT-R-0.pdf
  19. side note, the grain in the cabinets should be done with a roughness map instead of a bump or normals map
  20. I've entered quite a few times, won it a couple of times, it provided a lot of hits to our website. Would love a more refined contest based on a panel, but that would require more than just a single rendering.
