Merrittnew
When I select a roof plane in a 3D view, it is obscured by gray boxes. How do I get rid of this? I know it has to be a setting.
GeneDavis
Lemme guess. You're using Vectorworks? A laptop you got off the sidewalk on East 85th, from a guy named Serge?
Merrittnew
Nope. X6. Been using Chief since Chief 97, never had it do this.
Gawdzira
I have not seen these gray boxes before. Fully describe these "gray boxes". Could you give us pixel ratios. Perhaps compare them to a bread box? Oh wait, you could probably post an image to describe them... Is it different in Ortho or Perspective? Reboot the computer and see if it changes? Maybe there is a memory drain going on. Is it only in overview or also in a perspective camera view? What rendering technique or all rendering techniques? Merrittnew
Well, I can draw houses, and I can build houses, but I can't seem to work a screen capture.
Electromen
Well, I can draw houses, and I can build houses, but I can't seem to work a screen capture. Screen Capture on a PC; hit "Print Screen" on your keyboard. Go to the Desktop and Paste (Ctrl + V). This will place the screen capture on your desktop. You could also paste it to any folder. Alaskan_Son
I personally paste it into Paint where I can crop it and make notations.
Alaskan_Son
Does it look like this?? If so, this is how it has always been for me as far as I can remember anyway.
Gawdzira
You can also modify what the selection color is for items selected. I use a brigher color so I can clearly identify the selected object.
Joe_Carrick
There's a Tool in Windows called "Snipping Tool" located in the Accessories Folder. It's about as good as it gets. It's very easy to use and even porvides some markup and annotation capability.
