Build25
Brand new to this program and I am trying to get my roof lines to match up. Simple build. I want the house roof line to go into the garage roof line. I know I am missing something simple, but I am unable to find it. Thanks so much for your help! (Also, I have not done the exterior finishes yet)

JKEdmo
58 minutes ago, Build25 said: I want the house roof line to go into the garage roof line. If you want the house ridge to align with that of the garage ridge in terms of height, you will need to lessen the roof slope of the house roof planes. This will bring the ridge down, with the house ridge intersecting the garage ridge as a "T" in plan. To do this manually, turn off auto roofs. You can then query the height of the garage roof ridge. Copy that number. Then open the adjacent house roof planes. Paste that number over to their ridge heights while making sure the roof wall plate height is locked. You should see the roof planes adjust and the ridge heights align. Hope that helps, Jim

If helpful send a picture or sketch of what you are trying to do. I am new to CA as well..... Roofs are simple once you get the hang of it. A little daunting at first though. Build25
Sorry I wasn't super clear. I would like the house roof plans to T into the garage roof plans. The garage gable can be higher than the house if needed. Does that make sense?
GeneDavis
Sounds like you want the house roof to tee into the garage roof, with both having same ridge height. If pitch can vary, just decide whether you want the common ridge elevation to be that which the house has, or the garage. Then for the roof that you'll change, open it for spec, lock fascia height, and change its ridge to match the other ridge in height. It's easy and takes just seconds. Show us your result. DBCooper
Still not sure exactly what you are trying to do. If you have a T-shaped house with gables on the ends, the ridge lines are only going to line up if the ends of the house are the same size. If they are not the same size, then you can adjust the pitch to get the ridge to line up. See pictures below as an example.
Doug_N
You can manually adjust the ridge like to match. Make note of the ridge height that you would like to match, then use that on the roof to be adjusted locking the facia top height. This will disable auto rebuild, so you will have to join the roof plane intersections yourself.
