Gawdzira
Is there a default to get this block to build? ROOF FRAMING TEST.plan
JiAngelo
How does your roof venting work if the soffit intake is blocked off?
GeneDavis
No venting if it's a conditioned attic, typically insulated with closed cell spray foam against the underside of the roof deck. i don't bother Chief-framing those blocks, but do address them with CAD details. para-CAD
Our blocking comes with 3 @ 2" holes drilled in them and screened = bird blocks
joey_martin
I don't think it will build automatically, but using the blocking(roof) tool you can draw the line of blocking in there and edit the entire line of blocking at once.
Gawdzira
It seems odd that this is not automatically framed. Is this something where in certain regions, this block is not required? Even if this is not a structural requirement for shear transfer, it is needed to keep the rafters from rolling.

Custom bevel rip at top? Custom plain square rip at top? Should square or beveled be box-checked? How to report on Material List? Next widest? What about bay blocking for truss framed roofs, and big tall heels?
JiAngelo
R602.10.8.2 states bracing is required only for rafters greater than 9.25" above the braced wall panel. Also required for trusses greater than 15.25" above the braced wall panel.
DG1949
I think that the only way that blocking generates automatically is if you have exposed rafter tails
