Draw interior basement walls with auto foundation?

Is it possible to draw interior basement walls and keep auto foundation on?

 

When I draw an interior wall it says auto foundation will be turned off but I would like it to stay on.

There really isn't a way to do this, just don't jump into working on your basement if you're not at or near 100% on the main floor footprint.

Keeping Auto Foundation on is only really good for monopours, IMO. Once you start doing your own thing, it'll get turned off and then making sure your foundation walls align with the first floor walls becomes a manual chore.

Though using the Reference Display and Align w/ Above/Below tools make it fairly easy.

No solution needed. Once you start to manually draw on the foundation level the auto feature should turn off.

The foundation is automatically drawn based on the house exterior walls above. Once it's drawn from that, what would auto foundation need to do differently? The interior walls you want would have nothing to do with the exterior walls

I would like it to autobuild, because if I make a change to the main floor exterior walls I then I have to go back and change the foundation.

What does that have to do with interior walls in the basement? I do wish everything you drew in the basement wouldn't disappear if you do rebuild the foundation. Guess we're stuck with manually drawing changed foundation walls. Or just align them.

Do a full set of house plans including interior walls in the basement, then the customer says, move this exterior wall, and that one, change the garage size, etc.

 

If auto rebuild stayed on and operated per the request above by jambruins (and myself), it would move the basement exterior walls,  but leave the basement interior walls. Then I would go and adjust the interior walls to match the moved exterior found walls.

 

today CA truns off auto rebuild foundation when one draws interior walls in the basement, so instead I have to go put on the reference display, and move the exterior basement walls to match the main floor, and then use the align tool to make sure they really do match.

 

So the request is, unless I misinterpreted, is for CA to allow auto rebuild foundations to stay on when I draw interior walls in the basement, and, CA would move the foundation walls to match the main floor (just like it would do if I did not have any interior walls in the basement)

 

If I had no interior walls in the basement, then autorebuild foundation could stay on. That is dependency on interior walls

My guess is because the interior walls are not part of a foundation, when rebuilding foundation the interior walls are not recognized, and therefore disappear. Aligning the foundation to exterior wall changes is not that difficult a process
