Deck with vaulted ceiling

Please see pic. I am trying to make a vaulted ceiling of pitch 4/12 on a deck. But I notice ceiling plane doesn't work with rooms outside of the house...but only with those inside.

 

Any suggestion how to solve this?

So something like this with a scissor truss ?  Completely possible.

Put a roof on it, not a ceiling plane.

The roof is 8/12 while the vaulted ceiling 4/12

As you have found out, you need to have a roof to use ceiling planes. Also, ceiling planes do not create attic walls, only a roof.

The deck already has a 8/12 roof

Mmmm, I've never experienced that. I draw plenty of vaulted ceiling planes over decks, and usually at 1/2 the pitch of the roof. The gable end wall (if there is one) almost always needs to be manually adjusted in section / elevation view.

Not sure why you're having trouble. For me vaulted ceiling planes work the same inside and outside.

 

What exactly is the problem?
