winterdd
I have gotten used to making my caps like shown below for quite a while now. Is there a better way to achieve brick caps instead of having to uncheck "full wall width" and manipulate the number just to get the cap to overhang the brick stem wall? It works great but obviously isn't constructed like this in the real world. It is also shown wrong in cross sections. The cap should only be covering the brick part of the wall. Just trying to get better folks.

Michael_Gia
Make 2 walls? One just for your 3” brick veneer which you could split into a pony wall showing your brick below and your siding above? Sounds scary but it does work. Just make sure your outer wall is “no room definition”.
mtldesigns
I use a molding on the top.. like a belly band, but a brick profile. Then I don't have to mess with any setting.

Here is a CAD detail I normally use for these type walls.

Just figured I was doing things the hard way but maybe there isn't a correct one way to achieve this.
SNestor
@ChiefUserBigRob - just an idea...would not say it's ideal but here you go. I used a pony wall for the frame wall...just a short 3" tall section of 8" CMU and a wider brick sill. The wider is just to make it appear to be a sill. I created a new material for the sill (made a copy of the dark brown brick material), changed it's orientation etc. It's not a perfect solution. Using a molding polyline would be faster, easier...but there are always a number of ways to do things in Chief.
glennw
If you can use a pony wall to configure your walls properly, Chief will place the auto Wall Cap from the outside of the upper wall layers. This may not fit your situation though.
