4hotshoez Posted October 13, 2014 Share Posted October 13, 2014 I have a tiled wall that is 42" high then glass up to 8' then open above to the 10' ceiling. How might I build this? Joe_Carrick Posted October 13, 2014 Share Posted October 13, 2014 I would use a Glass Railing Wall 8' high for the enclosure with a Glass Slab Door for the enclosure. Then I'd create another 42" tall railing wall for the tiled area, make it "No Locate" & "No Room Definition" and move it into place. 4hotshoez Posted October 13, 2014 Author Share Posted October 13, 2014 One thought was doing the 42" tile wall as a railing wall with the rail flattened and made to be tile, then use a polyline solid for the glass panel above. Joe_Carrick Posted October 13, 2014 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Todd, The problem with that approach is that you can't put the Glass Door in. Using a Glass Wall allows you to insert a Door (Basically a Gate) in the Wall. It will initially be a "doorway" but you can just change it to a Slab Door. 4hotshoez Posted October 13, 2014 Author Share Posted October 13, 2014 I was able to put in a glass door. I made the wall a railing wall 42" high. When I placed the door it came in as an opening. After making some manual changes to the door it was set to 42" tall. I was able to make it 96" tall. and added hardware back in. The glass above is a Polyline solid. The one problem is that to center the door I needed to make it swing both ways. So aligning the glass door is less controllable. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
