Windows 10 bottom edge toolbar infringes Chief 10

Recommended Posts

Windows 10 was insisting I do an update and so I did.

Now when I go to use CA10, I have the Win 10 toolbar across the bottom and cannot see the dialogs I need.  Anybody know how to defeat the Windows 10 bar?

Ignore this.  Sorry.  I worked it out.

Right click on the task bar -- the black bar along the bottom. (mine is on the right side so will look a bit different than yours)

Check Hidden under Search.

The taskbar was not there before the update?

If you right click on it, you will see at the bottom of the list Taskbar settings. That will open a window where you will have soptions, one is to hide it.

Right-click on the taskbar and select "automatically hide the taskbar" if that's selected and the taskbar is not hiding, right click on the desktop and click "refresh"

In your Taskbar settings you can set it to "Automatically hide the taskbar in desktop mode" but that is not likely your issue.  You just need to click that thing between the minimize and close buttons so that it shows two boxes rather than one and you should be reset.  Not sure the proper name unless it is maximize.

This happens on me occasionally , usually after an Update too, even with Hide Taskbar on, and I usually find CA is Filling most of the Screen (98%?) but is not Maximized (fullscreen) as Chopsaw pointed out.  ie Click on the single square between the  - and X to maximize the window.

Update to Windows 10 created all kinds of issues for me with display.

Mostly toolbar or spell check windows opening in different locations on either monitor.

Need to spend some time diving into it or maybe enlist some professional help.:P
