NEED CONVERSION TO DWG

Recommended Posts

I am looking for someone with the Chief Architect Premier program to convert my Chief Architect Essentials plans to a DWG format.  In AZ plans must be summited to the city by a licensed architect and I do not want to pay an architect to redraw all of my work.  I found an architect that will work with me if I can get my plans converted to a DWG format.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME WITH THIS CONVERSION?

Thank youpost-13105-0-57895700-1469628843_thumb.jpg

Uploading the plan file is your first step.

and the answer was????? I find it odd that one replies privately to a public forum whose purpose is to help this community.

There was no "answer". The OP needed someone to do the conversion for them. In other words, I think it was really a request for service and not an actual question.

There are some folks that do not like to share.  I do not understand it either.

I learned from a client of mine who was alway willing to share his knowledge with his competitors.  He believed by sharing,  he would be rewarded in spades.  A valuable lesson he taught me.  I have found this to be true.

Sometimes it has less to do with sharing knowledge and more to do with "sharing" boatloads of time and hard work. Half the work you do as a deagner is nothing more than "sharing" your knowledge, expertise, and advice. Do you provide all that free of charge and only bill for your actual drawing time?

I contacted Del offline since he was a fellow Arizonan and wanted to share some information specific to Arizona in addition to helping him with his file. 'out of the kindness of my heart'. :D   Didn't see it necessary for that conversation happening publicly on the forum.

Now I have helped with a couple others on this forum over the years and you run across those who you know want to take advantage of the situation and I quickly cut them off or discuss pricing.  But generally I'm pretty willing to help out (if it isn't a direct competitor  :P

I was willing to spend 30 minutes or so "helping" out

then I might consider their needs and my need to request a fee

it's a balancing act

I have been trying to import terrain data from a dwg. I can get the terrain perimeter to work but the topo lines will not convert to polylines even though they have shared endings.

I attached both the original dwg, and the topo layers isolated as their own file.

This has been very frustrating as I have followed all the steps in the online knowledge base but the lines will never convert to polylines when imported. Any suggestions?

All, I have a building design (floor plan & elevations) and landscape design survey in DWG and PDF formats.  I need someone to convert these files into a HD Professional file as I am struggling with terrain and roofing. Once done, I am ok with internal colour schemes, services, and amending drawings.    If you can help me and have time, please send me message so we can discuss timings and fees. David

Is there a way (or a friendly person) to export to DWG using HD Suite 2017? Or to convert DXF to DWG? I am just getting started and don't have the Chief Architect pro software. My intended recipient is using Autocad 2012 and claims to need DWG, doesn't know what to do with DXF.

I am having trouble with importing a DWG topo map. I watched Chief's video 1056 (Import a Surveyor DWG file for a Site Plan or Terrain Perimeter) and I followed the instructions for joining all of the perimeter polylines but I still cannot get the entire set to highlight so that I can convert it to a Terrain Perimeter as shown. I have also tried creating my own Perimeter by tracing over the lines in the imported DWG and then placing the imported elevation lines on top of it - no go.

I noticed that when I imported the DWG, I got (2) sets, a large one with no elevation lines and a much smaller set (off to the lower left) which does have the elevation lines. The layers of most relevance are:

      -   4 (elevation lines)
      -   8 (elevation labels)
      - 17 (Perimeter)

Can anyone can figure out what I'm missing?

      Eric

Anyone else having problems importing DWG files into plan?  I'm getting locked up software I have to force quit (Windows 10)

Actually, I'm exporting elevation views from Orthographic Full Overview & then importing them back onto a level of .plan file - Had no issues doing this in X8
