  1. Forgot to mention-make a new layerset to go with that where that layer is off, so that your other views don't get messed up, may want a third layerset for the other wall elevation
  2. Put the cabinets from the second wall on another layer and hide that layer.
  3. Yeah it is. Got me thinking though. The stickies I use will also take images, like screen shots, and can be "stored" for later use. Anyway thought I remembered something about the eyedropper. It is a Windows tool, and can grab a color from anywhere on the screen, not just in Chief. So I tried a stored screenshot of a CA DBX and grabbed the color from that- works. Stickies I use are from http://www.zhornsoftware.co.uk/. Free though I've been using them so long (since 95 I think) I finally sent them some money. I also use it to store text strings, and have one Store folder for things from this forum that I want to find quickly.
  4. Yes others are like that, I believe it's a windows thing. Way I deal with it is to copy the RGB, Hue, Saturation, and Luminance to a sticky note kept always on top. Then whey you start a new color, where you can pick a new box, type those in. The other way is to use the eyedropper at the bottom left after selecting a box-you get a preview so can be in the ball park as a stating point. Note it doesn't always go into the box you pick but at least it doesn't over write your first one.
  5. Either box construction tab, separation- changes all default separations. Or Front, sides back, change front to custom.
  6. I usually do it in TurboCad first- some blocks won't but not usually important. In Cheif- select one line, then "ctrl + J"; click layer in the box, once all are selected,"ctrl + E" (open object) , change color to black (not by layer)
  7. Kyle, the OP is using Interiors, that does not have annotation sets.
  8. That's good to know P. Heard back from my guy and he found it- was that he pasted "tab" into the field- grows like a beanstalk-worst if there's a tab at the end of the line. Just reproduced it.
  9. Sounds fun. Heard back from my guy-he's checking for the file but said he remembers carriage returns as the problem. Yours may well be different, as I remember we already had the schedule in a CAD detail.
  10. I keep em off all the time but then my world is cabinets. They don't show correctly in plan, confuse installers, don't show in schedule (can get missed in orders).
  11. Gene, just ran a test and I can't make it happen again-go figure. Have sent a message off to my assistant to see if either he remembers or what plan it was (was one he worked on) Will let you know if we find it again.
  12. Try removing that column from the schedule, if growing stops the problem is there. Then copy comments into word processor and turn on hidden characters. Was last year, but that what I think I remember.
  13. We had this, cause was carriage return(s) in label or other user input in components list. Think they got there pasting.
  14. Likely you used the NKBA plan template which only has those Dim Defaults. If you are using Premier you can import annotation sets from the Profile.plan template. If you have Interiors you either have to copy and edit the default OR open new plan using the profile.plan template and then copy everything you have to that. Likely safer and easier to add another default by copying.
  15. Chopsaw, I missed your post at first since this thread is marked solved. Might start fresh and include pictures or plan. I can't tell exactly what the issue is.
  16. I used "treatments " they are custom millwork symbols. Offset is controlled by the symbol origin which takes some trial and error (at least for me).
  17. Gave it a shot as millwork treatment. Still needs some work but I had something like it (just learned this month Hope it helps. Symbols in plan
  18. Cheryl C was doing some virtual staging at one point, maybe she'll drop by.
  19. I think that the way to get there is making a single brick as a molding symbol then using that on a curved 3d pline, add a second row with offset. Once you have it looking right convert to a millwork symbol and use it as a window treatment- will have to muck around with symbol origin though.. Attached is a start- to make it look good I'd figure out the angle for the sides of the brick before converting the solid to a molding symbol. Currently working on a job where I had to use the window treatment thing a lot so that's what I was thinking. Actually guess you wouldn't want to add the angle to the brick, only the mortar in the new symbol. brick arch.plan
  20. If you edit the size of the object the Description in the components list reverts to base cabinet-have to use a user defined sub-category for it not to change on edit. You taught me this work around Joe.
  21. FWIW-i use molding lines exclusively- easier to copy from plan to plan, easy to have variations set on separate layers to show clients options, easier to adjust.
  22. Yeah, I hate using traditional overlay hacks for an number of reasons-like I miss thing Had a thought and checked and the "blank area" hack works with standard full overlay-so cabinet can still be used to get openings for maker.
  23. Can do that with a normal cathedral, just looks odd because the one wall is 45.
  24. easier to do than explain-plan attached, open the cabinet DBX, look at contruction and face items. Key is getting a blank area instead of a vertical partition, need to use traditional overlay and adjust the overlap but also works for inset.
