I guess I should have asked "How do you PBR in X10 on a Mac?
-
Like the title states, What is PBR?
-
Post #20 must be a wrong reference # ??? It seems the materials in the Library updated today make a difference. I'll try a new countertop.
-
I could be wrong but I think X10 is a stand alone program and does not upgrade X9. I did not uninstall X9. Both full versions are still on my system. It was an upgrade from Beta to the full release
-
I did that and Core Content was updated
-
Which woods are you missing? Core Content?

I solved the reflective floor material by replacing the flooring from Medium Oak Plank to Armstrong Flooring>Hardwood>Fifth Ave Collection>Topaz. In X9, I manually changed Medium Oak Plank, to a reflective surface. That option is not available in X10. Here's the result. You can see the original Medium Oak beyond the kitchen in the mud room.

I'm having trouble with my Wacom Intuous 5 and X10. If I select an item the mouse freezes for five seconds.

I'm very disappointed in X10 for Ray Tracing. In X9 they looked like photographs. In X10 there's little difference between a standard camera view and a RT.

Thinking of upgrading my MAC COMPUTER, should I?
Electromen replied to dshall's topic in General Q & A
Scott, When we were testing my Mac Pro, you had the Layout page open and updating it was the slowest process. I never have the Layout page open until I'm ready to print. Do you normally edit with Layouts open? -
Thinking of upgrading my MAC COMPUTER, should I?

Scott, I have a six core Mac Pro with dual video cards. How can I help with a test? I'm using x9. -
I run Windows 10 64 bit on my Mac via Parallels Desktop. I'm using the Windows version of QuickBooks Pro 2016. I had the buy Parallels and Windows but it was worth it. It runs very well and I can switch back & forth between Windows and Mac seamlessly. I have dual monitors, when Windows is running, it's full screen on the second monitor while Mac OS is on the first one.

Especially in an older computer, SSD will make a huge speed increase.

The truth is, I've tried to pay my SSA several times this month. Every time I sign in and hit pay, I get this message. "A customized invoice is not currently available for your SSA renewal. If you would like to learn more about the status of your SSA, please e‑mail or call Sales at 800‑482‑4433 or 208‑292‑3400." After attempting to pay again yesterday, I received the discount post card in the U.S. Mail. That's when I made the comparisons of costs. Merry Christmas to everyone.

I paid $495 x 2 = $990 The current upgrade sale price from X8 is $556. So if I skipped a year, I would have saved money.
-
I owned AutoCad about 15 years ago. It's not the cost I'm talking about, it's giving people who do not keep SSA current, a better deal than loyal customers.
-
I want CA to succeed and bring new innovations to the software. They need money to do that. I also want to be treated fairly as a loyal customer.
-
I've been a loyal supporter of CA since 1997. Every year I pay the SSA. The last two years I paid $495 each, $990 total. If I hadn't paid last year and kept X8, my cost for two years would only be $556 in the current sale. It's a greater savings if you upgrade from X7. CA is rewarding customers who are derelict and punishing their best customers.

How fast is your WiFi ? Is it 5 gHz ?
-
I Airplay with every client. No problems here. I'm using a Mac Pro (not MacBook Pro) purchased earlier this year.
-
My SSA is due again. What's the CA Team up to? Is a new version coming? I've been extremely happy with the 360 Panos introduced in 2017.

There are a couple of exceptions in the National Electric Code. All outside outlets must be GFCI protected except: when on a deck, more than 8 ft above ground with no access, like stairs, to the ground. Outlets in the overhang more than 8ft above ground, dedicated to the purpose of holiday decorations. Of course all of this can change with local codes and "the Authority Having Jurisdiction" which means the local electrical inspector.

This is just the electrician in me coming out. The correct term is "Weather Resistant" not waterproof or weather proof. Weather Proof is an older term that was abandoned in the NEC about six years ago. CA should change the symbol to WR instead of WP.
