  1. I was able to take a camera view and get the pano to work. Share also worked. How do you create a pano from a Ray Trace?
  2. I'm ready to install version 9 of CA Premier. I just spent 2 1/2 days on a drawing using CA 8. I'm meeting the owner tomorrow, and I'm sure some changes will occur. I was going to install CA 9 after the changes are made and approved, but changes could occur next week again. Is there anything I should be aware of for the installation and migration? Should I wait? I'm using a Mac.
  3. Try This: In CA 1. Turn off Reference Grid if it's on > View > Reference Grid 2. File > Export > Export Picture 3. Resolution = 600 > OK 4. At the bottom select PNG Files (*.PNG) 5. Save
  4. 1. In CA, Print to .PDF 2. Open in Photoshop 3. PS will convert it to raster, 300 PPI (DPI) is high enough 4. File > Save for Web & Devices 5. Message about file size > YES 6. Preset > PNG-24 7. Check or uncheck Transparency, this is the background 8. Image Size > Input the size you want 9. Metadata > Copyright 10. Convert to sRGB > Check 11. Quality > Bicubic Sharper 12. Save You now have a .PNG image
  5. Print to PDF and make sure your PDF Printer is using Vector images. .Tif, jpeg, .bmp are raster based images using pixels. Vector uses solid lines, not pixels
  6. It ends up that my 2009 Mac Pro 4.1 is not compatible with Sierra. I wonder if CA X9 will rewire Sierra?
  7. Like the title states, I'm using the latest version of CA.
  8. IBM says switching to Mac saves money. look HERE
  9. Are you sure it's not just a shadow in 3D? If you're seeing this in 3D, it may be that the wall looks dark.
  10. I was wrong about this. I'm still on 10.11.6 El Capitan
  11. I'm running the latest version of Sierra and CA x8 on a 2010 Mac Pro tower with an updated video card. No crashes, in fact it's very stable.
  12. I updated my MacBook Air and all is well. On my Mac Pro, I'm going to wait for updated drivers on the Wacom Tablet and video card. Sometimes that takes a week or tow to be offered.
  13. I was able to install X8 on the MacBook Air. I also exported and imported my Library. I was able to upload the .plan and .layout files to Apple iCloud and open them on the MacBook Air. I can make changes and save it to iCloud and open it on the Desktop computer It works fairly well. Drawing 3D views is surprisingly quick. Moving the camera around in 3D show some hesitation but it works. Thanks for everyones help.
  14. I normally meet with customers here at my office. I work on a Mac Pro tower while the customer watches a 40" TV as a monitor. The latest customer is disabled and in poor health. He cannot travel here, even though it's only a five mile drive. What's my best option for him to see this program and design his house? I have a MacBook Air, but it doesn't have HDMI out. I'd like to use his TV as a monitor. The MacBook Air does have a Thunderbolt jack. I hate to spend $3K on a MacBook Pro. Is there an option for using an iPad? Any other ideas?
  15. At work as an Electrician, I have to find the center of a room to mount the light box. Quickly, in your head, what's half of 87 3/4" ? I'm all for the metric system.
  16. I've made Blueprints. They've been obsolete since Whiteprints took over in the 1940's
  17. If you want it to show on every page, place it on page 0. If not, choose the page you want.
  18. 1. Create all your details in a plan and save it to a permanent location. 2. Send the plan to your default Layout, be sure it's sent to Page 0. 3. Arrange the layout the way you want. 4. File > Templates > Save as template 5. Save it to the Templates Folder. Create a new sub-folder to make it easier to find. 6. File > Close all views 7. File > New Layout from Template > choose the one you just created. 8. "Do you want to use this file as your default template?" > Yes 9. Close all views. 10. This should now open when you "Send to Layout."
  19. It took me awhile to follow your instructions on changing the material orientation but it worked perfectly. Thank you so much for your help.
  20. Thanks for your help Graham, that worked. I Blocked it and save it to my Library. The only thing is, when I make the partition wider than hit is tall, the stone changes directions from horizontal to vertical. To fix that, I made the faces two partitions joint in the middle. You don't notice the seam because of the Fireplace doors and TV. Below the hearth is six partitions and you see the stones repeating in image #2. I extended the hearth down into the basement in #3 and it looks right. I anyone knows a way to keep the material from rotating, let me know.
  21. I drew a Fireplace from scratch and I'm trying to save it. It matches ones built by a local company. The Block option is not available when I select all the parts. The fireplace view and plan are attached. I appreciate your help trying to figure this out Fireplace plan.plan.zip
  22. Here's how I was taught in school. Looking at the plan view, if the door opens clockwise, it's a right hand door counterclockwise = left hand.
