  1. As shown in the attached image, in X8 I merely set the drywall layers to "Opening no Material", the inner and outer layers of the ICF wall to "ONM" and the framed exterior wall, same thing but left the OSB sheathing. I am guessing that is or is close to what you want. DJP
  2. Lew is correct: X10 can easily open and return edited Home Designer Pro 2019 plan files, X9 can do so with Home Designer titles of the 2018 version, X8 can do so with HD 2017 versions, X7 works well with HD 2016 titles and so on. (That is why I have kept older versions of Chief Premier going back to ancient version 7). DJP
  3. The quality of such plan files is NOT dependant upon Chief Inc but rather on the creator of the.plan file. If you get a crazy plan file it is because the person who made that plan is incompetent. I work with Home Designer users all the time with NO problems, so I know it can be done. DJP
  4. Unlike DS HALL and Mark, I do not fully understand your question. I have files saved by version back to Version 7 on my HD ( I have clients that still use older, legacy versions). I have had zero issues creating copies of old .plan files and bringing them into Chief X10. That is the main use I have for X8 since it does open old legacy files after saving them in X8 I can then open them in X9 or X10 and do then whatever needs doing with them. If you, as you say, spend 80% of your time on legacy plans, X8 is a must have application. DJP
  5. Please share a copy of your plan file with us so it can be properly evaluated and researched. Posting only an image just leaves guessing for those who might want to help. It could be that your upper walls are simply out of alignment with the first floor walls. It could be that you have the door improperly set up in its dialog (Recessed to main layer etc). It could be that you have not properly set up your Pony Wall in its Define Wall Type Dialog. Who knows, check all those and if no joy, post a copy of your plan, DJP
  6. No problem like that here, I would suspect that you need to update your video card software drivers and then see if that helps. DJP
  7. My current main monitor is a 27" that I have had for a couple of years, I like my Samsung 27" just fine. DJP
  8. I just now did a "search" using the term "fascia mounted deck railings" and found two threads where this has been discussed here in the past: and Took me about three seconds to do. Read the entire threads and that will be enough to get your started. DJP
  9. I have a laptop and a desktop, I used a Logitech trackball several versions ago, when it broke around Version 0.5 I bought two new Logitech mice, one wired for my desktop and one wireless for my laptop. Both are not "top of the line" mice but have been solid and reliable from then to now (Version X10). Logitech has always worked for me and did not cost an arm and a leg. DJP
  10. I have since unsubscribed from that channel, his videos did vastly improve my laptop's performance and the video performance of my desktop. My intention was to help as I had been helped, I had no idea that some of his content was fake. DJP
  11. Never the less, I did carefully watch his videos and implemented his tips and did increase the appearance and function of my desktop and laptop. Everything is not a joke or a scam. DJP
  12. The tools provided work this way: after setting global default settings for the majority of a floor you can then make a group of changes by selecting one room, alter its ceiling height, floor height values, then select that room in plan view and in the "Edit Toolbar" you select "Load same Values" which then gives you a dialog to select the values you want to load. You then click "OK", then choose "Make Same Values", again this is available in the Edit Toolbar as a choice after selecting what values you wish to share with other rooms. Once selected all rooms (spaces) which share those selected values will visually "select" in plan view, where you can then see which rooms match your intended settings and which do not. To finish up you left-click in each room you wish to match properties with. DJP See Tim's video as a demonstration please:
