  1. It would merely be the use of a ramp plus editing the local terrain as per your diagram. I do not think merely a symbol would suffice, I do not see why such a construct could not then be added to one's Library Browser for future use sans the terrain edits and objects, a simple ramp can be made just using terrain objects. DJP
  2. For now, I would just use a doorway with a soffit or poly-line solid used as a backing over the limited programming of the niche tool. DJP
  3. Is there a question or complaint hiding in your post or are you merely making a comment? DJP
  4. I am only unhappy about Ray Tracing in X10, otherwise, it has markedly increased my productivity per minute-hour, the best yet! DJP
  5. Post a copy of your .plan file please so others can then see exactly what you are talking about. DJP
  6. Please post a copy of your plan file for us to inspect and I will gladly take a look. DJP
  7. Haven't a clue, my cabinets in X10 do not look that way, probably a layer setting, take a look. DJP
  8. Chief Tech Support or Sales may be able to supply an answer, call them. DJP
  9. I would be happy to share the Version 10 libraries I have saved for that version. Please contact me directly and I will work out how to share what I have with you. DJP PS: here is a link to what I have on my Dropbox account:https://www.dropbox.com/sh/6f866wxpfssrbwz/AAAm_mr8bdy7CcfnbZMMVP37a?dl=0 Let me know when you have downloaded the material so I can remove it from my server please
  10. Chief X10 supports the latest AutoCAD .dwg formats, just as X9 supported whatever was the lastest at the time of its release etc. You would need to contact Tech Support to verify whether or not Chief X10 now supports X-Reffed files or not in terms of AutoCAD .dwg imports, I do not know personally. I do know that this has been a problem with paper space .dwf imports in past versions. DJP
  11. Tell the source that you need non-X-Reffed files for import, files exported, one at a time from "Model space" (not paper space) within AutoCAD. Chief cannot import .dwg files that contain x-reffed files which are not also sent as single files. DJP
  12. AutoCAD produce is as variable as those who create it. I have observed the same as you have in receiving them in a chaotic state. There is no "trick" involved that I am aware of. You just do what one must to get their work done as quickly as possible. The main variable with .dwg files is those who create them in the first place, how competent they are and how organized. DJP
  13. I intentionally maintain versions 7, 9.5, 10, X1-X10 on my PC, I still have a client who uses V 9.5, several who use X1-X7 but the majority use X9 and X10. I also have Home Designer Clients all over the place: I have Home Designer titles and Versions from version 7-2018, though not all of them. Hard drives are cheap- I currently have four. DJP
  14. Adding a roof system works for me, noticed the same thing here. DJP
  15. See the image below of my copy of Version 10, in "Edit - Preferences- CAD- Snap Behaviors" which I believe is what you are looking for. DJP
  16. Back in Version 6, circa 1999 I stopped depending upon "Auto Save". No one is responsible for your work and produce but you, so I, in this case, manually save (CTRL -S or F3) every few seconds as I work to make sure I do not lose my work. If I have a crash or autosave fails, my work is saved within a few seconds. You should consider doing this as well. Chief Tech Support cannot return your lost work, so you need to be more personally responsible for that yourself. DJP
  17. My contact information is displayed as part of my posts at the bottom (phone, email, website and tutoring services) which you are welcome to use and peruse. My online help scheduling, pricing, and other data can be read here, which you should carefully read. When you are ready, please request an appointment time on the indicated days and hours and I will then confirm that request into an agreed upon appointment provided your request does not conflict with another client' confirmed appointment: http://djpdesigns.com/tutoring.html DJP
  18. This is unacceptable in terms of a "new feature", disable an existing one for a new one which is still in its infancy and virtually unusable. DJP
  19. Brian Beck, thank you for your response to my post. I think, on the whole, I like X10 better than any prior release, I really had that only complaint above. I think in terms of the slowness I experience is based on my needing to upgrade my hardware (it has been three or four years since my last upgrade), we will see. DJP
  20. Earlier this week an employee of Chief Inc said here that "The Physical Based Render and the now missing Reflection slider in Materials Properties would be fixed." I now see this as a False Report. PBR still shows promise but is a hit and miss proposition and the Properties Tab is still missing control of reflections like we have in X9. I do not intend to use X10 until they keep their publicly stated word. DJP
  21. Like Michael said, no floor equals, usually a bad wall connection and results in no room dialog. The ceiling is there because it, in this case provided by the roof or ceiling planes, not the room dialog. DJP
  22. I have not experienced this on my PC in X9 or X10, so my advice is to contact Tech Support and see if they can help you, it is something specific to your computer as opposed to Chief. DJP
