  1. Each Wall type has its own default Material Settings per wall type per outer layer. There is a setting for exterior and interior wall materials found in "Edit - Default Settings - Materials - Exterior or interior wall", There are settings for walls found in "Edit - Default Settings - Rooms and Floors - Current Floor - Materials Tab - Walls", Each Room Specification Dialog - Materials - Walls" has its own material setting. In other words, there are lots of ways to get interior wall materials out of sync. Ideally, you set all or check all of those settings before you begin to draw the model in a .plan file. Many users do not do this and cause no end of wasted time to sync up again. Check those defaults for any out of agreement settings to be sure. DJP
  2. Like Alan said, there are controls for layer sets and annotation sets but the end user must understand these controls and control them. If you are sure something weird is going on, then contact Tech Support, otherwise, I would at first assume that end-user control is not being applied. DJP
  3. Yes, I do not commonly shoot myself in the foot just for cussedness or as a bold statement against future change. DJP

  6. I can help you, I work off and on for several remodeling companies in Texas, Georgia, Colorado, Michigan, and Massachusetts. DJP
  7. Contact me please, I can help DJP
  8. What you need is what I specialize in. I have been helping people like you since 1999. DJP
  9. Like Lew suggested, you get on every communication channel possible and make yourself known (Facebook, website, Houzz, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest etc, ). you also do everyone right plus like Shane said, it is a full-time job helping others and by helping others plus and communicating like mad to the World, you then get a positive inflow of people that need your specific help. You also contact all your old customers to see if they need anything or know anyone who needs your kind of help. Believe me, this will keep you busy and it WILL get the phone to ring and ring. Waiting for the phone to ring is a death sentence. Be competent and be constructively busy, always. DJP
  10. Polyline solids work also as long as the terrain is relatively flat. DJP
  11. I noticed the same thing when I looked at his file, most camera types, shadows were off, only two or three camera types were on for shadows. DJP
  12. I observed that the maximum choices on my PC were via "Rich Text", a lot fewer choices using Plain Text. I have no Arabic fonts on my PC to try, sorry. If you have the font installed within Windows-Fonts, you should be able to access and use it using Rich Text. If that does not work, talk to Tech Support on Monday. DJP
  13. Man, you are persistent Chop! It was my own settings that were off, not his. I think I had a project in Kansas a while back and then did not reset for Austin. Any way, it is corrected now. Thank you, I guess DJP
  14. I do not know, I reported what I saw, that is it. DJP
  15. Nope, Central Texas is where I live and where my settings are set to. I just checked his plan's Preferences out of curiosity since Dermot mentioned them earlier on this Shadows thread (no one was more surprised than myself, I assure you). I was just trying to be thorough in my check over. DJP
  16. I have projects that I have done literally all over the world or projects that were built elsewhere than the USA. In each case, the projects now stand from Tokyo to South Korea, South Africa, England, Russia, South America, Australia, Mexico, and Canada, as well as many States of the USA. In each case, the plans were shared with a local licensed Engineer before applying for a permit. Most of the time my name is not even on the plans. I mainly help others arrive at plans using Chief Architect Premier or Home Designer Pro. I like to do this and do not feel in any way diminished by it. I like helping others while helping myself. DJP
  17. I downloaded your plan and layout file, opened them in my X10. I do not see anything out of place or the naming conventions you describe at all. Your plan and layout files have not been "renamed" as you claim on my PC, so I am confused as to what you ARE speaking of, can you be more specific and show the naming instances you are speaking of as being out of place? DJP
  18. The only controls that ever existed for Temporary Dimensions are found in "Edit - Default Settings - Dimensions - Temporary Dimensions" as far as preprogrammed tendencies are concerned. DJP
  19. When I suggest a workaround, I am often attacked for that suggestion, never the less, this is easily repaired using the "Edit Layout" line tool after sending a view to layout and wall poly-lines can be edited before sending to layout as well. I have seen this but not often and I usually just repair the walls so they properly close. without your plan to look at, I can only generalize. I do not expect Chief Architect to achieve any kind of Nirvana any time soon, so I just work with it the way it is. DJP
  20. When a camera view is open or active there is an icon for that camera view called "Edit Active Camera" where for that camera view, you can select shadows and other attributes. There is also "Edit - Default Settings - Cameras" dialogs were such attributes can be set per camera type. DJP
  21. I too, miss Jim, he was one of the top ten Chief People. DJP
  22. I guess you have already looked at the "Mohawk" flooring library? DJP
  23. What Mark Mc suggested would be the easiest way but if you want something that really looks nice and representative you will probably have to draw custom muntins to get just the exact look you want. It depends on how far you will go to gain just the right effect. DJP
