Not that I am aware of. What you should do is to place the image files in the C:/My Documents/Chief Architect Premier X10 data/Textures. Then you use the Library Browser to, one at a time create a "New Material" for each texture file, naming it and importing it into the Library Browser. That is the only method I know of. DJP

Open the structure's dialog box, go to its "Structure Tab" and lower the floor setting below "Zero Inches" to where you need it to be, Then you either rebuild roofs or you manually lower the roof planes of that structure the amount that you lowered the floor. DJP

Install it on Windows or buy a new license for the Mac Version, or call Chief Architect Sales for help. DJP

X6 is not designed to be operative on a Mac, it only runs within a Windows Operating system (Windows 10, Windows 8 or 7 and perhaps XP). DJP

A custom home -
You can create such objects on the fly using custom-made terrain features, colored white and there is a Bonus Library called "Roadways and Public Spaces" that you can download and use. You place them on a terrain plane or a road or parking lot feature on a terrain plane. DJP

From time to time I have found isolated instances of a mismatch between the 2D Block and the 3D symbol and have had to manually change the relationship of such symbols. I do not know if this applies to this post but I wanted to back up Chopsaw in as much as it has occurred in the past and does work in such cases. DJP

Anyone can tell you are unhappy but like Eric said, exactly "what is not working". Anyone can tell you need help but not exactly what you did that is not working or what you are using that is not working (Eric's signature advice). Help us, help you, please. DJP

Boilerplate stuff I use and reuse, I either place those in my Library Browser or place them as a CAD Detail to my Profile plan. In retrospect, I prefer the Library Browser method. Opening two layouts I would consider doing it "the hard way". We all do what we must in present time but planning for one's future is the better course. DJP

Best Laptop for the money. Suggestions?
DavidJPotter replied to Handwerk_Arts's topic in General Q & A
My current laptop is pretty but compared to my desktop which is years older it is slow, if reliable. The key difference between my laptop and desktop is that the desktop has as its main HD, an SSD which makes a HUGE difference in performance (My laptop has a better video card, the same if slightly more modern RAM). I am sure you will get lots of responses, this type of post usually does. Everyone will have an opinion for you to consider. Just do not act on any one of them but do your own research and make your own decisions is my advice. DJP PS: my laptop is an ASUS ROG laptop it has 8 Gb of RAM, an analog one Tb Hd, a Geforce 980 NVIDIA video card, the CPU is a quad-core Intel chip- 8 replies

I have never seen or heard of this happening in any version since I started back in Version 4. Never the less, PC's and Mac's tend to be wild variables unto themselves and on individual PC's. Most such unwanted behavior can be "cured" simply by saving-closing- and then reopening the software. If it persists, I would first look at my software drivers for the video card and mouse, then a general maintenance check on my computer, then its hardware. I doubt that you will get much agreeing feedback on the issue you are complaining of, we will see. DJP

Layout - Selective update / retain edits of section views
DavidJPotter replied to Sydney23's topic in General Q & A
I still have fully functioning versions of Chief Premier starting with Version 7 through Version 20 (X10). "Value" is determined by you and no one else. My Version 7 works just as good as it did back in 1999. I rarely use it but it still functions like it did then. I have clients like you who never bothered to upgrade (that is my "why" for all the antique versions). Just because you have version X5 or X6 just means you have at your fingertips the capabilities of those older versions. Each newer version is better than last years and that is how it should be. "Worth Nothing" is merely a personal consideration and not any kind of "reality" unless you make it so for you. Quality creative work requires a certain dedication and personal standards which, for me is just part of my job producing the consistent level of professional work I demand of myself and for my clients. I do not blame my tools for the actuality of my produce, only I am responsible for that and no one or anything else, just me. One's worth and the apparent worth of one's possessions are all personal considerations and nothing more. DJP -
Files created by versions earlier than X8 must, like Lew said to be opened and saved in X8 to use in X8, X9 or X10. I, like Lew saw a thread answer here by Chief Inc personnel that one could do this using the X8 viewer software. I have not tried this myself because I have versions X10 back to old version 7 on my PC so I do not need to rely on the free version of X8 Client Viewer. DJP

Is Automatic resizing of text and leader arrows possible
DavidJPotter replied to CARMELHILL's topic in General Q & A
If by "automatic" you mean the software does it for you by some presets,...the answer is 'NO". You want something done, you just do it using the tools at hand. DJP -
I tried opening it several times using True View 2018 by Autodesk with no positive results, it seems to be a corrupted file, see if you can get the originator to export it to an earlier version of .dxf or even better .dwg DJP
