  1. Not that I know of, something cannot be "found" if it is not "There". DJP
  2. No Sound means one of several situations: 1: the sound on your PC is not turned on or the volume is off 2. You do not have speakers attached to your PC or Mac 3. Your Speakers are not properly set to play 4. Perhaps your browser does not support sound or it is not properly configured to allow or support sound The point is that the problem is on YOUR computer and not the video itself, find the reason on YOUR computer, fix it and then enjoy the videos. That is YOUR responsibility. DJP
  3. Window Specification Dialog - Treatments - Library Browser - Interiors - Blinds - Interior Shutters or Place shutter objects directly from the Library Browser manually. DJP
  4. I have been helped here and now, as I can, I help others here, at Facebook, at Home Talk and elsewhere. A side from helping oneself, helping others is a high purpose that we all share. DJP
  5. I heartily agree, I back up all my library files, cab files and user libraries to a second hard drive AND to my One Drive cloud storage. I have on my PC active versions from 7 to 22 on my PC and all their installation, library files and other necessary files so If my PC dies, I have my laptop with all the same apps on it plus Cloud and hard drive back ups. I have been there and done that. I do NOT need Tech Support unless the World Ends of some such. You, of course are free to do as YOU wish. DJP
  6. I think turning "Object Snaps" off would be what I would do if I do not want line entities to "snap" together, try that. I usually leave Object Snaps ON but only turn it off when I wish objects and lines not to snap together. DJP
  7. Plants are shown visibly as two dimensional images that always face the camera. Those can be easily created using Photoshop or other some such image editing software and then imported into Chief as custom images. For a fully 3D representation of plants and trees requires Sketch Up or some other software that is dedicated to creating custom 3D constructs that are fully 3D from any angle, a radically more complex thing to do. Such creations can then be imported into Chief as custom symbols and added to the library browser. DJP
  8. If I have the space I use it, most of the time, I do not use it due to space limitations. DJP
  9. I can help you as I have helped others for thirty years. Please contact me, share your plan file or plans with me for an estimate of effort to obtain your desired product. DJP
  10. That is what I do, short of Engineering, HVAC, Electrical or Plumbing as I am not licensed to adjudicate for those licensed professions. I have thirty years experience in drafting and design. DJP
  11. What Joey says is true but think about this, the foundation and structural members of a home must be designed to withstand the local geology, weather stresses and wind loads that it will have to withstand through out its lifetime. Would you invest thousands and thousands of your hard earned or borrowed dollars against those odds based on "two guys with a pick up" or someone who went to university, obtained an engineering degree which includes geology, topography, weather stresses, wind and dead loading, strengths of materials etc, then worked for an engineering company as a yeoman or apprentice, then took the State Examination for certification as a State Licensed Engineer to protect your family and your investment? You are free to decide for yourself, anything in Life is a gamble. You can design the space and look of your addition or custom home. You can share your plans with financial institutions for financial help. You can use your plans to gain bids from General Contractors and Sub Contractors. But you should also depend upon those fully trained and licensed to design the foundation that holds your families Dreams and your families safety into the future. DJP
  12. Your posted image shows "roof poly lines" all set at a pitch of 9/12. If that were true you would not get the roof geometry that your image shows, what I mean be that is if all pitches are set to 9/12 you would end up with a perfectly symmetric roof system and that is not what your posted images show. No one who has looked at your posts have been able to "solve" your problem and answer your questions to date either here or at Home Talk because you have not, to date made your question clear and you have been unwilling to help those who would help you understand what is what (no matter what you think you have communicated to date has made your situation clear). In order to answer a question, it must first be offered so it can be clearly understood by those who would help. DJP
  13. Is this what you are trying to do, take a look? DJP
  14. I never bothered to learn or use the "Roof Poly lines" tool, they added it around 10 years ago and by that time I was proficient using Wall specification Dialog - Roof Tab settings and manual roof creation and editing. I did not see any advantage to that tool when it was first released. That said, Chief and Pro generates by default hip roofs at a pitch set in the "Build Roof-pitch" input box and if you wish to diverge from that global setting you use the wall specification dialog - pitch input box to set a differing roof pitch. It seems quite straight forward to me. I have observed that new users who try to use the "Roof Poly lines" tool often complain of trouble from that use and perhaps not fully understanding roof tools and settings in the first place. You mention "Roof Groups" several times and that is another concept that I have never found a use for. I create roofs where they are intended to exist, by presets or manually. I am sorry it this perhaps does not directly address your questions but in 24 years of use of this software I use and do what works for me and ignore the rest. Your posted images did not help me fully understand your quandary, sorry. Can you find and post a clear image of what you are trying to emulate please? DJP
  15. The Auto-Roof Generator is a pre-programmed device that cannot by itself realize all possible geometric problems it may be presented with by End Users. That is what competent end users and manual roof tools are for. DJP
  16. At the worst the roof system might take 1 to 2 hours, I charge $75.00 per hour based upon how long it ACTUALLY takes to do by way of the internal "Time Tracker" tool in Chief Premier. Share a copy of your ".plan" file and I will get it done quickly. a photo of the rear of the house would also be helpful or at least a rear elevation view. DJP
  17. I build my own computer and have had nothing but AMD for over a decade DJP
  18. In plan view place the wall you wish to "clip" directly underneath the edge of the stair object instead of beside it like you have in your posted image. Once done that action will cause the stairs to clip that wall underneath the stair object. I agree with Eric in that hardly anyone here uses any Home Designer Software and certainly not Home Designer Suite. You are better off posting at Home Talk instead of here. DJP
  19. It always comes down to settings, dialog boxes and Default Settings, always. DJP
